I honestly believe that the Spanish national team could contend for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. They could at least be a late lottery team. Pau Gasol Marc Gasol Rudy Fernandez Ricky Rubio Juan Carlos Navarro Fran Vasquez Just to name a few. All of those guys are/would be legit NBA rotation players on playoff teams. And don't forget Sergio Llull.
How about Brooks, Battier and Jeffries for Wallace, Diop and Augustine? Why for CHA? Brooks is major upgrade from DJ. Battier and Jeffries bring the disciplined defense that Brown likes. They get rid of Diop's contract. Why for HOU? Wallace brings back the grit and toughness that left with artest and mandry. He is superb positional rebounder, which along with having Lowry in the starting lineup will make us a much improved rebounding team. Augustine can play backup and fight with Ish for minutes. Diop, while expensive, is a big body that is an elite shot blocker which is exactly what we need. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=35vlpug

here is 2 trades that could happen and would help us out send Battier and Jermaine Taylor to Memphis for OJ Mayo and Hasheem Thabeet...Memphis does this to provide Rudy with an older veteran to help him develop leader skills (and for cap space when Shane's contract ends) also they have too many bigs....Houston gets a big man and a wing that can play some D then Call the Knicks send then Kevin Martin and Chuck Hayes for Wilson Chandler and Eddy Curry...NY gets a scorer in Martin and gets rid of the Elephant in the Garden in Curry....Houston gets a young athletic SF that plays excellent D and is an underrated scorer Brooks/Lowry/Ish Mayo/Lee Chandler/Budinger Scola/Hill/Jefferies/Patterson Yao(?)/Miller/Thabeet/Curry what do you think??
The Bulls need a two guard and IMO Kevin Martin would be a nice fit. How about Martin to the Bulls for Taj and a first(Bobcats). Taj has been really solid filling in for Boozer and is young. Im not sure about the salaries just that obviously Martin makes alot more and fillers would be needed. Of course this is only if the Rockets would be ready to start the rebuilding process.
http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1070539&sid=b965419fd697a0d118f8e5cb7e480e3c For Houston: They get longer and add versatility. They add Varejao and Nene and Iggy. For Denver: They ain't taking on salary in a Melo trade. Yao gets baught out by Houston and returns. They get Speights to sweeten the package. They receive Rockets NY swap pick in the deal. For Philly: They get Melo at the expense of Brand's long contract. Sure they have 3 point guards Williams, Williams and Holiday, but Turner is now in the rotation making Lou Williams a small 2 guard. They basically rent Melo and let him walk and move Brand in the same sentence. For Cleveland: They take on Brand, but also receive Philly's first round pick which gives them two to work with. Young sweetens the deal. Yao / Nene/ Miller / Hill Scola / Varejao / Patterson / Hill Iggy / Budinger Martin / Lee / Taylor Brooks / Lowry / Smith
From a grizzlies point of view we'd love that team. You guys would get 2 younger players to rebuild with and the grizzlies get one of the best pure scorers in the league. That's how you guys are supposed to make deals. The rockets may soon be in a rebuilding mode so Martin is really less of an asset to that cause.
Battier and Taylor for Randolph and Turiaf Martin and Chase for Iggy Both trades are for this year and going forward. The key is getting Anthony Randolph.
Not sure about the first deal but LOVE the second. Martin fits perfectly with Philly and Iggy is the creator and defensive presence that could really help AB flourish.
Wouldn't mind having a 3 way rotation with Lee, Battier, and Iggy (sg/sf) either. Lee has the talent to deserve more starter minutes, and this could help solidify our lineup with less players to play. We also get rid of 2 of our defensive liabilities.
