Ralph Sampson and Dream. tanking &sucking worked so well for the Rockets. Also Francis and Yao. Rockets should have tanked in 2003 too. SF + Yao + Lebron (or Bosh or Wade...) We need to do it again. 3 tanking seasons will do wonder.
Yes, I absolutely believe we were a better team last season, especially at the beginning of the season when things were clicking. Once we traded Landry, I think we lost that edge. They were a much better defensive team and turned the ball over less. We can say what we want about Ariza, he was one of our best defenders and that is where his loss hurts this team. Still, I wouldn't take him back.
i understand it's really easy to think of this thread as stupid because of the rockets losing, but like i said in post number 1 of this thread....don't expect a win against toronto and phoenix...even me a fan could see that. Expect us to beat G.S. and like i said in post number 1 of this thread, let december 11th and 14th be the beginning of better play and more wins, peace.
Really, not a win against Toronto? Stop living in delusion here dude, if we can't expect a win against these teams, then we won't even scratch the playoffs.
Winners overcome obstacles when they lace up. Hakeem never made excuses during Ramadan. Kobe and Iverson carried their team to victory through countless injuries. MJ won a game where he was half-dead from the flu. We can hope to get better as injuries heal and fatigue goes away, but we should never use those as excuses. Good teams don't lose to the Suns and Raptors... end of argument.
i don't know, i guess toronto beat boston the other night...jeezus. You don't get the meaning of rhythm, environment. Can the rockets beat the raptors 6 out of 10 times? Easily. Would the rockets have won this game if it were in toronto, most likely...i made a post like this on page 5 or 6. bye.
yeah, the suns beat the lakers...and toronto beat boston the other night. Go and look at every teams schedules and analyze them a little closer, you'll get more surprises than i don't know, just lots of surprises in store for you. Stop giving me these legends of NBA events in the history of time, i'm talking about the 2010-2011 rockets. bye.
First of all, those Rocket teams did not tank, they were just bad. The year we got Ralph, we more than doubled our win total from 14 to 29, so Ralph and no one else on that team was tanking. Also, it took eleven years for Hakeem and the Rockets to finally win a championship, and we had a lot of bad seasons along the way, so it's not like suddenly we were winning NBA championships after we got Hakeem. For a lot of years after we got Hakeem we seemed to have a talented team, only to have them seemingly underachieve most years. It wasn't until we hired Rudy as our coach that the Rockets finally figured out how to put all the pieces together. Coaches and players do not purposely perform poorly with the thought of getting a higher draft choice. Owners and GM's might make moves that weaken the current team in order to rebuild, but I don't know if you can really call that tanking. With the way the lottery is set up now, you can have the worst record and still not get the top pick. And we have seen that many top ten picks fail to become stars, so I don't think "tanking" is such a great idea. I think I would rather see a coaching change before we blow up the team and start from scratch.
You're right. The expansion Raptors beat the 72 win Bulls. I wonder what MJ's excuse was at that time, or if he even had any. This is the NBA, any team can beat any other any given night so teams respect their opponents no matter what their record is.
My point is that in addition to the games that are hard to win, they lose games against teams that good teams are suppose to win against. There is no excuse from being beaten by crappy teams when you already have a losing record as a supposedly good team. I don't see Lakers and Celtics with losing records do I? They consistently win games they are suppose to win.
mmm, this Win against the Lakers tonight is just what the team needed. Stay tuned. The morale for the team is way up. If we can snag a win against Memphis it will be perfect.
I'll follow your bump with a question I have always had. 30 teams. 82 games. Each team plays the other teams at least once? Some teams play each other twice. Three times? Some teams can have easier (or harder) season depending on how many times they play an easier/harder team? Sorry, probably have not asked this correctly and my questions probably stupid. Just have wondered about this.
It can, if you happen to squeak by a couple of tough teams only 3 times and get some easier teams 4. But it's not by much.
