All signs point to Erick Dampier joining the Heat.

Having a deep bench is overated, see the lakers. And for overrated, see the rockets.

 

Not surprising. I assumed Dampier's talk with the Rockets died out because of mutual disinterest, and not due to injuries to Brooks. Given the Heat's slow start, I bet Dampier still held out hope that he would sign with Miami, his team of choice, at some point.

 

What version of Dampier do you think the Heat will get? I'll answer you: The most pathetic version. It's going to take the slob a while to get into shape enough to be worth a dime.

You do remember that Dampier isn't very good, right? He had no training camp and will likely be worse than ever.

Did I forget to mention he's now 35 years-old?

Heat haters can rejoice. This won't help them. If Dampier actually gets minutes, they are doomed. The House that Riles built is collapsing.

Unless Chalmers gets a heart and brain transplant, James Jones is the only one of those 4 worthy of being a rotation player in the NBA.

 

Dampier must be really bad now. Tons of talk with a few teams and no contract whatsoever.

 

again, they have no pg. Their pg suck. They shouldn't be included in the "deepness" of this team, deep is only if the players are of quality like the celtics bench, or the magic.

Well the heat do need all the help they can get, even if its just the 2nd best center in the league after shaq.

Anyway even when he's in shape Damp has never had a double double season that I can recall (except when he had that career year in GS), so a "slob" Ericka is probably not that different from an in prime Ericka dampier.

 

A little off topic: Where is Adone Foyle these days?

Everytime I hear Erick Dampier I also think of Adone Foyle for some reason. They played together on the Warrior some 10 years ago so that might be it.

 

"Erica" as the Mavs fans used to call him is not the answer.

The Heat need Anderson Verajao, Lamar Odom or Kevin Garnett to fix the softness of Chris Bosh.

Even if the Heat make the Playoffs, they'll be out by the 2nd round with tissue soft Erica & Bosh anchoring their defense.

 

I have no idea where Adonal Foyle is.

I want to say that he retired a few months back. Saw something on NBA.com about it.

 

Foyle is the Magic director of player development, gives guidance to the young fellas. They say he is a bright dude.

I hope Dampier doesn't turn that Hear team around because we'll second guess not signing him if he does.
