So I bought a package of spa services a while back for a family member and they still havent used them, so we figured it was best to get a refund, since it was a significant amount. The receipt i initially signed said I could cancel purchase for refund at "any time", but the fine print also said the terms could be changed without notice through their website.

The terms have now changed and they don't do refunds/cancellations after 6 months, which it has been, so my request was denied. However, I noticed the last update to their online policies had been a year and a half ago, but i bought the gift a year ago, which means the 6 month policy was already in effect at the time of purchase and my receipt was outdated with incorrect information.

Should i be able to cancel the purchase because of that?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

What happened when you called customer service and brought up the fact your receipt contained outdated information?

I haven't called to point it out. I would rather handle this in person, but I wanted to cover all my bases before i drove out there. I figure theyre going to be difficult and ask for my copy of the receipt anyway.

Whats going to happen is you aren't getting a refund. Are they a reputable company, or are we talking about "blu sky" type spa? Seriously though, good luck. If they denied it already chances are if its a pretty big amount they will not want to lose their money, they would rather lose what they believe a "spotty" customer.

Point it out to them. Ff they don't correct their mistake by giving you the refund, you should tell them that you could take this matter to

    Yelp
    Twitter
    Facebook Fanpage
    City Search
    Google Review
and many other social media outlet... including this thread

they've been in business for at least a decade i believe, but i guess they have a good clientele that doesnt request refunds much, but it's probably due to a mix of their policies and being able to afford it.

i'll probably look into transfering it to someone else to save me the hassle, unless they are jerks about it, then they'll definitely deserve the complaints.

    thanks again for the responses

    ^ This!

tell them the family memeber is sick and is physically unable to drive...everything is negotiable, so suggest half the money back and half in spa credits...

Did you pay with a credit card, like AMEX?

most credit card companies will refund the amount back to you if you open a dispute and tell them exactly what you told us....
