I did not catch that the Tattoo couple didn't have to do a speed bump! I wonder if an explanation will ever be offered; that's not really fair but whatever. I don't feel that any of the teams eliminated thus far were serious contenders, and there is no way Vicki and Nick will luck into winning the race, they are just too dumb. AND Nick is too bad of a teammate (stupid, thinks he's always right, really stupid "Artic Circle, you know?", and unsupportive). (possible explanation why no speed bump here: http://www.tvgrapevine.com/index.ph...-bump&catid=207:the-amazing-race-17&Itemid=59) There were no really strong all guy teams this year, and the all girl teams are stong. The TV hosts and the doctors are both young, in shape, and intelligent, and there are no all-male teams that can say the same (the Princeton guys were never gonna cut it). Of all 6 teams left, I don't think one team really has a significant disadvantage other than the tattoos. While some may not be as strong as others, I could see them all (other than Vicki and Nick) making the top 3 and then anything can happen. Imo, the two strongest teams are the all-female teams: Brook and Claire, and Nat and Kat. I am pulling for the TV hosts Brook and Claire.
Yeah they really chose some weak guy/guy teams this year and some pretty strong girl/girl teams. They really want a girl/girl team to win and I think that it will be between one of them. I doubt that the old father/daughter have a chance, the tattoo team are too dumb, and the two other couples have guys that are too big of douchebags. Both girl teams have the strongest chemistry and get along with each other the best. I bet it's going to be Nat/Kat.
Finally watched last night and was wondering where the speed bump was too. Did they edit it out? I've never heard of that happening before. Very weird. I was actually impressed that Notre Dame was working with that other father/daughter team. I thought for sure he would try to screw them over, because they are kind of gullible, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that he didn't. I still hate Notre Dame though. I hope they leave next. I like the host guy. He doesn't do a very good job of hiding who his favorite teams are. LOL. You could tell he was pissed that he had to send Kevin and his dad home and keep the Roid Rage team. You could just see the contempt in his face when he told Roid Rage they were safe. I'm pulling for the southern belle and her dad. They seem very down to earth and have a great attitude about everything.
Pretty disappointing episode. The Home Shopping and doctors are the only decent teams left. The top 3 are d-bags...Florida, ND, and tattoos.

Let me just say how dissapointed I was in Sunday's episode. My dissapointment mainly stems from the fact that I watch this show with my on again off again gf. Reason for the off is my inability to propose marriage at this moment, so I try to avoid watching shows with her in which marriage proposals take place. Well lo and behold, Mr. Roid rage decides the trip to Abu bloody Dhabi would be a great place to propose to his "oblivious to roid rage" girlfriend. Ugh I dislike those two!!!! Damn you Kevjumba, shoulda sent Mr roid rage and his lady home. Also, I was starting to like the Southern chick and her dad, oh well, c'est la vie.
I am probably done with AR after this season. I thought last night's episode was the worst one I've seen since I've been following the race. I can't believe with 2-3 legs left, the producers would put in a double u-turn and allow one team to get such a large lead (7-8 hours). ND will coast to the finish. Based on the previews, their only competition the tattoos will struggle on the next leg. The doctors and HSN might as well quit.
The double U turn didn't work out but it did add some drama.... It would be better, if it was a non elimination leg and there was another UTurn available, but only to those that had been U-turned themselves. I did not mind the 7 hour lead, I think they were smart in getting that earlier flight.......sometimes that pays off. DD
I have no problem with the "I'm smarter than you are" team getting a 7 hour lead. Everyone had the same opportunity to get that flight, they just worked harder than everyone else to secure it. They deserved that lead. The Double U-turn wasn't much of an obstacle since 3 teams that were still racing against each other all ended up at the rickshaw place with a chance to overtake each other. I don't know how long you have been watching the amazing race, but throughout the race there is ALWAYS a wait time for other teams to catch up and level the playing field.
Then call the damn thing the Amazing flight reservationist. The lead the first two groups had made all of the "obstacles" simply "chores." Neither one was in danger of losing the race. In fact, the first team won this leg only because they found the earlier flight. It is the stupidest part of this show. Just have ALL teams get on the same flight when they travel to the next city.
Err. That 7 hour lead isn't going to last. The producers will get them all on the same flight or put up an "hours of operation" sign to bunch everybody up. Not sure why they didn't do that this leg. Maybe they wanted to mix it up a bit so viewers won't always assume that the teams will get equalized. As for the double-u turn, I actually like it. It's better than a single u-turn since if only one team gets u-turned they're much more likely to be eliminated. U-turning two teams at least gives it a bit more drama.
I usually love travel shows, but The Amazing Race doesn't real do anything for me. Maybe I need to watch an entire season from the beginning? Is it the destinations that the contestants travel to that interest you? Or just the competition aspect of the show? Maybe I'm just more of a No Reservation with Anthony Bourdain person...
Well what a let down on the 2nd to last leg, the dumb couple got left behind and had no drama at all from the first 3 teams. I am not sure who to root for.....now... DD
Ill be rooting for any of the Female teams to win. Nat and Cat are really pleasant they look like they are having a good time. I like the blond QVC host, she is hilarious. the brunette is really bringing her down.
What? I think the Blonde is annoying...she is just too hyper, and it is grating on the nerves.... She is good looking though. DD
I think the blonde is hilarious also and seems to be just a goofy personality. Definitely rooting for them, but I like the Doctors as well.
It is a quandry for me, I like the girl from team Notre Dame but think the guy is an ass. I like the home shopping girls some, but think one is whiny and the other is hyper. Team doctor is pretty good, but boring....although the vegetarian eating a pigs face was NAILS !! DD
I stopped watching the last 3 weeks but how did the dumb couple get this far? I remember from watching the very first episode thinking to myself that the those two would get eliminated within 2 weeks.
You guys need to watch the elimination station episodes You get way more info on the teams that have been eliminated etc. DD
the girl actually isnt that dumb.. and she tries her best and is just kind and supportive overall even if her bf is a complete dick. She didn't even blame him when it was clearly his fault for not wanting to compete anymore thus getting the 6 hr penalty. She took the blame that she was tired the previous leg when they got eliminated..
