Well Joel Pryzbilla played his first summer league game and this is what he did. 12 Points 16 rebounds! Good job rudy. ------------------ "I talked about what degenerates they [Mets fans] were, and they proved me right. Francis3, Do you still not get it that the Rockets had already made the deal with Milwaukee to swap picks and get the first next year? Milwaukee selected Pryz. The trade had already been made before the pick. Pryz slid a little and was a good pickup for them at thay spot. Do you think GMs would have any credibility if they made a deal and then reneged because a player slipped a notch or two? There is probably more than credibility involved, being legal issues as well. I don't know the details of these last minute trades, but verbal agreements are legally binding. Whether it was Pryz or Joe Blow there is irrelevant. ------------------
Just wait till you see Colliers numbers ------------------ When I die I want to go peacefully like my grandfather. Not screaming like the passengers in the back seat!
just because Pryz.......did good at a summer league, what against other rookies, and undrafted college players, and CBA stars, and NBA rejects. Wait til he goes against the talent in the NBA, then lets look at his numbers and decide if he is still our missing ingredient. Lets see how our rookies do in their summer league as well...... C'MON LETS GIVE OUR GUYS A FIGHTING CHANCE HERE.... PLEASE ------------------ GOT MILF!!! :O)
Hey Everyone, leave Francis3 alone here, he has a great point. I am already predicting him to be the starting center in next year's all star game, I mean the guy yanked down 16, count 'em, 16, rebounds... Can you say: HALL OF FAME!!!!
Didn't we pass on fellow SWT alumnus Jeff Foster last year? He had 17 boards last night in the same game. Way to go Rudy. ------------------ Going for the Rolls Royce! visit www.swirve.com
Does anyone know if Steve Francis said anything about the rockets draft? I think Collier is so glad he is a rocket because now steve francis cant dunk on him anymore in the game. Francis use to jump over collier in college everytime they played each other. ------------------ "I talked about what degenerates they [Mets fans] were, and they proved me right. Id bet my right nut that the Big Fizz Pryzbilla wont be starting in the All-Star gae next year. OVer Mourning and Mutombo. Theo Ratfliff will get more votes then him. Elden Campbell will get more votes than him. Thats a very bold statement ------------------ When I die I want to go peacefully like my grandfather. Not screaming like the passengers in the back seat!
Am I going out on a limb by saying that I think the all-star game comment was a joke? ------------------
Let's see what Pryz does against some halfway descent NBA Centers, instead of some CBA, 2nd Round Draft, or Non Drafted SCRUBS. ------------------
Better yet, lets see how Collier and Langhi do against these "scrubs". ------------------ treasurer of the moochie norris fan club
Even though I agree Summer league stats don't mean much, I can honestly say there is no question ths Pryz will be a much better player than Collier. The one thing I keep thinking about is there is one #1 pick that we owe someone next year, while none of our #1 picks have to come next year (except ours). I just wonder if we didn't make the trade to ensure we would have at least 1 1st round pick next year? Still I would rather have Pryz. And yeah we could have taken Pryz because he was on the board at #9. ------------------
Pryzbilla was a disappointment at #9 but it was a decent choice. But then the Rockets pull a trade for Collier. Big step down. Pryzbilla is still developing and has a huge upside. Collier has considerably less upside, what you see is what you get. They'll score points and get boards but neither Collier or Langhi will contribute like Pryzbilla. But the league will be starting soon so we'll see. ------------------
Remeber a guy who played for the Rockets in the preseason lat year and did really well? What was his name... oh yeah Kelvin Cato! He was awesome in the preseason and then proceeded to absolutely suck in the real season. Pryz isn't even going up against the players whom he would normally go up against on a nightly basis in the season. Just cause he does well in the Sumer League, he is immediately an All-Star? (exaggeration, yes, but hopefully you get my point ) ------------------ C'mon, lets get Chuck that ring. [This message has been edited by Chuck04 (edited July 13, 2000).]
Pryzbilla is the next Greg Osterfridge. We don't him, no way, no how. Pryzbilla, who will admit this himself, has trouble running the court. So make that the next Greg Osterfats, only slower. Mark my words that Cato will be slam dunking on a fast break before Pryzbilla makes it to half court. ------------------
Przybilla is not a "former Rocket", so the title of the thread makes no sense. He was always the property of the Bucks. ------------------ I Hate Every Bone in Your Body But Mine
He was a rocket offically for 3 minutes so he is a former rocket. PRYZBILLA = Kevin Mchale. ------------------ "I talked about what degenerates they [Mets fans] were, and they proved me right. Just by saying something, I could make them mad enough to go home and slap their moms." John Rocker
I hate to ruin your fun, but which of you guys witnessed the personal workouts that Rudy, CD, et al ran Pryzbilla, Collins, Langhi, and Najera through? Maybe our brass knows more than we do or even we give them credit for. Second question: which ones of you broke down the tapes of their college games and reviewed them with professional peers. Or did you guys just see these guys for maybe a half and one or two Sportcenter highlights? Admittedly, passing twice on Rashard Lewis was regrettable, but if you look back about 20 other teams passed on him too before Seattle snapped him up. He is their Cuttino Mobely; see, we get it right sometimes too. At least, Ray Patterson is not around anymore. It was downhill for him ever since winning the coin flip for Lew Alcindor. God bless ClutchCity for availing us of such matters of import to stir up! ------------------ There are 3 kinds of people: those who can count and those who can't.
