They would still lose to the Lakers because Pau Gasol is too much for Scola to handle.

if he had gone to the Spurs, he would have either played Center or backed Tim Duncan for the rest of his NBA career. I think Scola knew that too

I think Duncan would play as center and Scola as PF.

They would be a lot better, clear favorites (with the Lakers) to win it all.

Yeah and TD would tear Andrew Bynum/Lamar Odom apart. If they hadn't traded Scola the Spurs would have won the 3 rings Kobe has now. TD is the GOAT pf ever, and even if he was ranked as a C I'm sure he'd stack up well with the all time C greats. People forget but TD won his 3 rings with 3 different casts, and he was the best player in all three series (parker won the finals mvp one time though).

I'm sure a TD/SCola twin tower combination backed up by Manu and Parker would have dominated the league.

Spurs are on a 10-game win streak. If they had Scola they would be the only undefeated team in the league.

If Scola had stayed with the Spurs, we wouldn't have watched the Lakers go to the Finals the last 3 years.

By my reckoning, the Lakers will be in 5 straight Finals in a row (yes, 2 more coming).

The Spurs slammed their Championship window on themselves when they sent Scola for VSpan and Butler.

The Spurs don't make a lot of roster mistakes -- letting us have Scola was certainly one though.

If Duncan is listed as a center, he will have to be a center during the all star games too and he is not gonna get enough votes to be a starting center.

lol, any PF that wants any meaningful pt would not go to San Antonio.

I'm sure Scola has enough rings already

Duncan was the best player of the decade. A complete game changer on offense and defense at the most important defensive position. People can jock Kobe all they want, but Duncan's defense down low negates all the easy points down there while Kobe's perimeter defense only locks up whoever he's guarding. He would've made up for Scola's lack of defense and anyway, the Spurs' perimeter defense was pretty nasty w/ Bowen locking people up. You put Scola next to Duncan with Parker's and Ginobili's penetration and there's no way to match up. Too bad Kobe has his five, though.

careful, goodbug's gonna have meltdown and flame you up any second now :p

But I agree. TD can anchor a defense and impact a game in a way that Kobe can only dream off. TD scored efficiently no matter who he was up against, and he even hit a couple of clutch shots during his career. Oh well, too bad their succumbed to the lure of $$$. But then again we traded Ariza for the same reason so oh well....

Nice love for TD; but he has FOUR, not three, rings.
