As astoundingly great as the Dream was, he never "sold" as much NBA gear and goods as Yao has to date or will in the future -- in other words, generated as much revenue.

Why do you hate him so much? I can not believe somebody can make such a awful statement.

You know what, I hope they trade Yao to a championship team because this Rockets team is cursed with injuries. I remember EVERY SINGLE YEAR, there is always someone not healthy during the camp start or before the season start. Even new players coming in got injured...tough players like Artest and Bonzi that appears durable and STILL got injured the instant they play for the Rockets. Battier never have much injury through his career and got injured...TMAC never could get over it. There is ALWAYS something happened...and EVEN this year before the camp start...everyone is generally healthy and optimistic about the season.....then Brooks and Yao went down.

Even if Yao has another foot injury, the Rockets don't have the stones to trade him at the deadline. It wouldn't look good in China.

    Are you kidding?
    1. Kobe would love to join Houston, he wants the thrill of playing with a 7'6 chinese man and additional sponsorships from China.
    2. They let Jordan Farmar go to New Jersey, yes they are dumb!
    3. Kobe has 10 more years left in him (just like MJ when he was with the Wizards averaging 20ppg).
    4. Kobe doesn't need Gasol he would have Chuck Hayes to help him.

I agree. It's looking like the Rockets won't be able to get that star player they covet, so a rebuild should be the backup plan. Trade away your vets for future picks, play the kids, and start counting the ping pong balls, and accept the fact it might take multiple lotteries before the Rockets find their next franchise player.

Dump 'em all and start all over. Yao and Battier are amongst the worst starters in the NBA (in terms of amount of play and quality of play).

Yao has been as productive as ever in the minutes he plays... He just rolled his ankle...

    No big deal, yet.

It's not the Rockets' fault, but no one in their right mind can deny that EVERY player of any league-wide significance that has put on a Rockets uniform recently (maybe since Barkley?) has had some type of injury problem. Some more than others--but it has happened.

I do think the training staff is pretty inept. If we armchair people know that a big part of Yao's problem is his size-inducing-stress, then shouldn't the staff take a more active approach to his diet/vitamin/mineral intake as well as physical training? Just sayin.

On the flip side, Phoenix's staff has one of the better reputations for their players' health. Then again, it may just be the air in Phoenix that rejuvenates careers.
