by Franz Kafka, Who's waiting on whom? Is the unsigned Wang waiting on Yao? Or is the unsigned Yao waiting on Wang? Yao Ming, Houston's prized top draft pick, oddly opted to return to China after the Worlds at Indy without signing the rookie contract the Rockets had painstakingly prepared for him. Reports are that confusion over Wang Zhizhi's future has got the Chinese jittery, and they are waiting (with Yao safely in their clutches overseas) to see how Wang's situation plays out before completing the deal with the Rockets. For the Rockets, it's a dollar waiting on a dime. For Chinese-wise Mav fans, it's hilarious ... http://www.dallasbasketball.com/headline_C.asp?pr= It figures that Mav fans and media alike would get joy out of watching the Rockets trying to sign Yao and deal with the Chinese government. I suggest everyone pay a visit to www.dallasbasketball.com and piss on the Mavs and their fans. So am I just a little hypersensitive?
I dont like the way Dallas fans act like they have a certain aura about them , but about 90 % of those people never cared a dime about the MAvs or acted like this untill about 2/3 yrs ago when Cuban bought them.
Haha yeah , sorry , I meant the Mavs but now that i think of it he does have alot of money hmmmm.....
Hey Crash, I don't think you're being sensitive. I think Kafka is just being an idiot. Cuban did not want to get rid of Wang and said so many times publically. Cuban, I think mislead or wasn't upfront enough with the CBA about what he or the NBA could deliver in the event Wang decided to to disobey, defect or just tell the CBA to shove it. Cuban's a young guy and will probably own the Mavs a long time and Chinese players will probably off-limits to him 10 years from now and that might be significant if the CBA improves (A LOT) and if a population of over 2 billion with a government sponsored system starts cranking out a few 1st round NBA choices a year, he's screwed. So is the team that signs Wang now. A team, like the Knicks who never rebuild doesn't have to sweat the draft like logical sports teams can get Wang for probably a 2nd round pick. Cuban will decide it's time to cut bait with Wang and suck up to the CBA (or just pay cash) for a few years and pray. Twit Mavs fans can laugh all they want about Yao's clearance getting delayed, but unfortanately for us, the Mavs owner is not a stupid or short-sighted man and he ain't happy. Chinese fans on this board and a few media pundits have claimed that right now Wang is better than Yao. I doubt that, but anyway Cuban thought he had an asset and right now he's just got a problem. Mav fans, party down. Leslie Alexander looks like he hit the lottery, oh that's right, he did. I'm pissed off the CBA is making Rocket fans sweat, but Yao will be here even if he misses training camp. The Mavs and their fans must really puke when Mavs players say they just don't match up well w/ the Rockets. If we've given the Mavs problems the last 2 years, this year is just gonna be funny. Thanks for the thread, but Crash I'll wait to visit the Mavs board until I can offer further appropriate condolences . I will, I promise, extend dear Franz a proper welcome when he returns. Thanks again.
After the Asian games, Yao will be here for training camp around October 17th. He will be here for 3 preseason games including one against San Antonio.
Of course once Yao signs that idiot won't write a thing about it. It's pretty funny that Dallas fans are so obsessed with Ming though. I guess I would be jealous to if I didn't have a frontline like Dallas.
Isn't Franz Kafka dead? He was the guy that wrote The Metamorphosis right? I remember reading that book in my junior year HS English honors class... edit: My suspicion is true, Franz Kafka (1883-1924)...
I never trust NBA rumors from guys who turned into a cockroach and had apples lodged in their back by their fathers.
Funny that you should mention that book since I just bought it Friday night at Barnes and Noble book store. According to the book Kafka died in 1924. hmmmmmm.
It's just Interstate 45 rivalry folks and they're scared because Houston sports is back to kick some booty. Texans beat the Cowboys and Rockets will beat the Mavs!
