Effort reflects the team leadership. RA is has no fire; the team has no alpha dog to instill confidence in the young guys in the battle. When thing get tough down the stretch there is no one for bail out when they panic and system break down. There is no fight because is no leadership just a bunch of nice guys afraid to step on each other toe. Strange as it sound but they're missing the "it's on me" guy. :p

I remember the last couple of seasons with the exception of last season the team needed a "Philadelphia game" to have a team meeting and then get their act together. Hopefully a Philly game is coming soon...or someone from Philly ;)

Agree with those who are saying it's injuries. Rockets just can't ever catch a break on that front, unfortunately.

Maybe AB will come back with more determination though and shock everybody in the second half of the season.

Morey should have let Lowry sign with the Cavs. It's sad to see platers like Scola work so hard every game, and Lowry talk about back spasms. Those are the last two words I want to here from a Rockets player. Scola continued to work on his game after he re-signed, and Lowry is taking the year off.

What happened to being the deepest team in the league? Now we don't have enough talent......

I really don't think you understand how debilitating back spasms can be.

I mean, yes, being healthy is part of your value as a player, but I don't think you should act like it's a problem with Lowry's character or his "heart" or whatever. If you're in too much pain to play, you're in too much pain to play.

That said, I agree we should have let him go to the Cavs. I think we overpaid for him and are going to wind up regretting it (if we haven't already).

they were deep with role players. that's it. that doesn't get you very far in the NBA, typically.

Well, our whole team pretty much consist of role players. Are we screwed?

Yeah, but when players that play a vital ROLE are out, the other role players who are playing THEIR role, can not fill a void in which they are not talented enough to fill.

This team is missing AB, Yao and CBud.....in that order of importance.

At the beginning of last year, we had Battier and Landry coming off the bench. Now we have Lee and Hill.

    Pretty big difference.

We HAVE to find someone who brings contagious intensity to the team. This team is a shell of the former hardest working team in the league.

Do you think Ariza is what this team needs to turn it around....?

    .. Wait, don't answer that..

Ariza would have helped but not by much.

Battier is not what he used to be and neither is the team's defense. We offensively capable but outside of Scola and Martin, everyone else is random in there offensive abilities (including CBud and Brooks for the few games he played, although his assists have improved over last year).

The fight is there but we have a lot of flawed players and it seems that Adelman has finally lost sight of how to implement a winning game plan around them.

    Agreed.

TruWarier was the heart and soul of the team, and Landry was a warrior in the paint.

I think I'd have to look here. When Landry checked in you could just expect energy from him and the others fed off of that. We don't have anyone with that anymore. I thought Lowry was one to depend on for that relentless energy but as a starter I feel he has not been playing as himself. It is possible that the back spasms have kept him playing cautiously. Maybe Pat Pat needs so PT in the big leagues. It's still early in the season but they've got to turn it around soon.

Lowry had heart but he might have given himself an atherosclerotic plaque big enough to shut down the whole damn thing the way he looks like he's eaten through the offseason.
