Coming into the season the expectation was that we would have home court advantage, the worst case was that we would be a playoff team.

It looks like we will be a mid lottery team. Now for a team to underperform so much, it seems natual that significant number of players must be playing really bad.

However the perplexing thing is that this is not the case, all of our major players are performing up to or even exceeding expectations.

Yao - offensively, rebounding wise, pretty much up to expectations, defensively a bit behind, but overall has met the expectations this season

Scola - Offensively exceeded expectations, defensively same as last year, below average

Battier - Defensively may have slipped a little, Offensively we don't rely on him anyway

Martin - Offensively much better than last year, same defensively

Brooks - Plays like everyone expects, good offensively, bad defensively

Lowry - Shooting wise below par, but otherwise up to expectations.

Chase - 3 point shooting below par, but everything else has improved

Hayes - defensive still good, offense has improved

Miller - probably even better offensively than we expected

Lee - Probably the biggest dissappointment both offensively and defensively.

Hill - Better offensively and defensively than we expected, has improved from last year.

So I don't see how individually any of our players, certainly our starters have significantly underperformed from what our expectations are.

So this means only one of two things.

    1) Adelman can't coach

    2) We have significantly overrated our players, our record is as it should be because our players are playing up to the level that they should be expected to be at.

No cohesion because we have too many players deserving of, and getting, playing time.

We need to trade some of these pieces for a star who can create one on one. That will help us close quarters and games as well as help us defensively and offensively as guys will get a chance to play together and build chemistry.

I don't blame Adelman, he's in a tough spot with this roster.

Most of our players are either good scores OR good defenders, you can get away with having one or two of those players (Gordon, Terry, Bowen, even Shane) but not when your whole starting 5 is made up of those players.

All Miller and Scola can do is stare on D, while Scola somewhat makes up for it on O, Miller's impact on O does not make up for what he gives up on the other end, we all know about Shane and Lowry, same with KM and AB.

Hell even Bud off the bench, theoretically he should be a good defender but his lateral quickness is so average that he barely stays in front of anyone.

I don't have to mention the rest of the team, you all get the picture.

The only players that I am excited about at the moment are Ish, Hill and Lee despite having 2 shocking games in a row.

Most of the "fans" on this BBS are haters or fools.
They overrated every player except AB who has been hated by those fools.

Adelman hasn't forgotten how to coach. This team just isn't good right now.

I'd like to say Yao and Brooks will make a difference, but we started 0-5 with them.

Scola must has to be the most overrated player on the Rockets. He's great on offense but doesn't guard his man and seems to not care about defense. He lets his player wide open so all these baskets he made don't count...

Actually we were 0-3 with Yao. He didn't play against Spurs and Warriors (I think?)

Yao is not the main cause for the losses. Maybe his current injury but certainly not his play. He has been out yet the Rockets have not exactly torn up the league.

I am certain that when all is said and done, Yao will still have a say in the final Rockets record. I believe it will be a winning one and all we need is patience and let the coach figure out a way to win.

I think something can be said for how the 'assets' on this team are perceived. For all his Jedi mind tricks, DM hasn't been able to pull off a deal to bring a legit star to H-Town which tells me either DM sux at making deals or that the rest of the league doesn't value the 'assets' on this team as highly as we do.

When this team has 10 straight games with the same rotation(I'll even caveat a couple of Yao B2Bs in that span) I'll get back to you. Until then, we haven't seen what these guys can do because they aren't playing with who they are supposed to be playing with. No Chemistry!!
