We need to get rid of all the one dimensional players. Bye Battier, Hayes, Miller ect... Too many players on this team can only play one side of the floor.
Hard to complain because we're missing key playerS...hopefully when we get them back Adelman learns to insert players like Hill, Taylor, and JJ more often. He needs to sprinkle them in with the starters from time to time to get the most out of them. Then we'll see, if they need to make a move and how big.
We are missing AB and a largely useless Yao Ming. I don't see those two pieces making that drastic of an improvement. Besides its not like we even played well with AB or Yao. This team is far from being a .500 club.
It's time to review Morey: It's Morey who trade Rudy Gay(8th pick) for Battier; It's Moery who trade Landry for K.Martin; It's Morey who trade Arize for C.Lee; It's Morey who match Lowry's contract;
Assuming Barnes is the #1 pick, the Rockets can't get that one from the Knicks. They'll have to stick with their own pick and hit lotto gold. Worst year ever for the Rockets to crash and burn when they could be gifted a lotto pick for theirs in exchange.
Oh well, if i am not wrong i remember JT saying that he could be an all start or close to DWade as player. Rick Roll gave that a try .... Hill played and still same result Enough reason man yada yada especially Dakota Face it we suck and stop saying that we just played # games ....... do we need to play all 82 before admitting that we sux balls Face it people be realistic, we sux and reality hurts like a biatch .
a comment by guy986 on the rockets realgm board. "Jordan Hills/ Jared Jeffries- You can get him out of the Suck. But you can't get the suck out of him. Once a knick always a loser. Kevin Martin- The downfall of the mighty Kings began with Kevin Martin getting major minutes. Coincidence? I think not. Career loser. Chokeney Lee- Theres a reason why The Nets lost almost 70 games last season. This guy playing 33 minutes will do that to you. The ultimate loser. "
I disagree. Players are almost always one-dimensional. It is the job of the coaches to mold them to play at least OK on the other dimension. We did a good job molding Chuck Hayes to play OK on the offensive end, but we NEVER made anyone good at defense if he is not already. I think it is clear now that Rockets defensive prowess 2-3 years ago was legacy of JVG. Once those players were largely gone, there is no more defense. The team played well offensively, #2 or 3 in scoring, but atrocious dead last in points allowed.
This is just painful. We are missing some key components. We desperately need something, a spark, anything. This is the first real game that we had no chance of winning. From the officiating to the lackluster performance we just had bad juju the entire way. Maybe a trade will fix this team, or maybe a change in mindset, but it just feels like we are so close to success (this season), we just need a bit of luck. Ultimately we have a hard swing after this game, but we can definitely carve out some wins from that. If we can put together a nice little win streak we might be able to make something work. Above all something needs to change. Our offense isn't getting the calls, consistently we are getting nailed with charges that are questionable at best. Defense can only do so much if we keep squandering away the possessions we have. Lowry has shown he is not a starter but an amazing back up. Hill has shown if he can overcome his laziness he has immense potential. Scola is a greater scorer but plays weak defense. Ish is good, but without having a real shot its really hard to legitimize playing time passed a backup spot. The list of backhanded compliments goes on and on. This team is missing a bruiser. Love him or hate him, Ron Artest was a force to be reckoned with. We need something along those lines, but younger and much much more mature on offense. We need balls and we need heart, neither of which appear consistently out on the court. We have potential, but our window of turning this ship around is closing. I hate to say it, but our only real option is giving up a piece of this team in a trade. It will be interesting to see what happens when December 15th rolls around, but by then it will be damn near too late. We need someone now. I just cannot figure for the life of me who that someone will/needs to be...
Well as nice as it would be to get a high lottery pick, I'm betting that the Rockets will continue to lose to good teams but still win games against teams below .500... Because of this, we will cruise around the .500 mark for most of the season and we may even sneak into the final playoff spot. So lets just pray that the Knicks continue to lose and we can get a high lottery pick from them.
