iphone just went out for a relative in NY. I have t-mobile (iphone was unlocked). I don't have much time to research all the android phones on t-mobile and could use some advice from the smartphone fans. which one should i get from t-mobile?
I have a Google Nexus one that i'll sell for $200 flat. You can PM me. It's not in perfect condition but it works. It has scratches from wear and tear (being in my girlfriends purse alot) but it has a case and unless you're looking at the screen with the sun on it, you can't tell.
Got mine delivered today. Very impressed. OP, keep in mind the MyTough 4G and the G2 are the only two T-Mobile phones that have HSPA+, which is faster than Sprint's Wi-max. IMO, the MyTouch 4G clearly has superior specs to the G2.
Can you post results of a speedtest? Speedtest.net app I've always been skeptical about T-mobile, especially since their 3g network is by far the worst I ever used, IMO. Im currently pulling in 7 megs on Sprint wimax
link facts pls; im thinking about switching to sprint when my tmobile contract ends, but i wont if this is true......
HSPA+ is CURRENTLY faster than Sprint's 4G, but 4G has faster potential. It's like a race between a Camry and a Ferrari. Right now the Camry is ramming it and going at its max speed. While the Ferrari is just cruising at 60 MPH. Camry is currently faster, but in the future the Ferrari will speed up and will soon overtake the Camry, while the Camry is stuck at its max speed.
Here is one: http://www.phonescoop.com/articles/article.php?a=376&p=2707 It's probably 6 one way and half a dozen the other. The issue exploded about 4 months ago. Some people I've spoken with personally that know more than I do also told me HSPA+ is faster and should be a viable technology for quite some time. Everyone will inevitably go to LTE down the line.
Yeah, even Sprint is considering going to LTE 4g Technology. Coming from a former T-mobile customer who switched to Sprint. It's worth it 100 percent. the 3g and regular voice coverage with Tmobile is limited IMO. At least with Sprint you roam on Verizon Towers for free (just don't do it excessively; 800 minutes per month)
What do you mean? NYC just recently got 4g as well. There is a downside about wimax though. It doesn't do a good job of going from tower to tower. It'll disconnect And reconnect which can get annoying
Does the MyTouch 4G have a custom skin from the manufacturer on it? (like SenseUI or something similar) If so, then get the G2. With the G2, you'll get new versions of Android much, much quicker. I can't say enough about having that advantage with my Nexus One, and I think the G2 will have a similar advantage. You could have Android 2.3 by Christmas if you have a G2 or Nexus One (or, of course, a Nexus S if you wait).
You won't be disappointed. The swype typing in Android is awesome. I have "man-sized" fingers and I don't even need to change the phone to landscape mode to do it well. I can text faster than with my old Blackberry. Even if your fingers are small, I imagine swyping has to beat using physical or touch-screen keyboards by a mile. Does anyone disagree with this?
My boss was showing me how to do this on his G2. looked pretty cool, but he looked a bit error prone. I am not sure if it was just him or if it takes time to get use to. Are you concerned about not getting android updates in a timely fashion due to this SenseUI? Not sure if I really should care.
