What idiot thinks he is still the franchise player.

Self inflicted Hate, you guys expect way too much out of him.

So what he gets paid 17 million dollars, it ain't coming out of your pocket. It amazes me how people can literally bring up money value. You don't want to pay his salary, don't go to Rocket games.

    Way to much?
Is it way to much to have hope that a guy can finish a season for once in the past 5 years?

And hes getting paid 17 million dollars and taking up a huge part or our teams payroll.

Yao is getting paid Lebron money. And what are we getting in return for that money?

Yao is a good financial boost for the owner, but a horrible value player on the court.

It is an albatross contract like Elton Brand that has handicapped the Rockets from making any moves for years. Rockets will never be a player in free agency with him taking up space. The Rockets already tried the sign and trade route in the off season and failed miserably.

A 7'6 Card Board right in front of the rim can throw ALOT of people off.

I'm sorry, but hating an unfortunate situation where a player is just not built to last in the NBA and bad mouthing a player and who he is as a person is two completely different things.

At no point has Yao Ming ever portrayed himself as a slacker or someone who does not care. In fact more often than not, he has cared too much.

Be mad that he just was physically capable, but allowing that to color your image of him as person and then posting blanket false impressions based on your blind emotion is not warranted and completely uncalled for.

I am also getting tired of Yao's injuries but you can never accuse Yao of being a slacker. It is really unfortunate that he can't stay healthy. Otherwise, we would have a great team for many years.

This injury itself doesn't seem too serious and could happen to anybody, but people are factoring in his injury history...
On a more positive note, I think his foot suffered the most serious injury during the 08-09 playoffs, mostly because of years of over-usage, playing in the 2008 Olympic games, and "almost" finishing the full 08-09 season while playing injured in the Laker series.
I hope, with a full year of rest and a cautious approach, he can be relatively healthy this year, at least without another season-ending breakdown.
    Best wishes to Yao!

This injury for Yao is kinda depressing. I mean he's trying to work his way back but this injury is just another set back. Oh well, its not like I expect him to make a huge impact anyway.

That 24 mins a game is killing us. I think the Rockets were not wise announcing that Yao's 24 mins a game thing. I think a better way to announce it is saying they will limit Yao's minutes so other teams won't be able to predict our game plan with Yao. But since they announce it, other teams will find ways to attack that.

Do we get to rollover his minutes?

Anyone who questions character is a fool. He is nothing but a loyal hard working salt of the earth individual, but at some point you gotta be realistic and admit his best days are behind him and he will never be what he was.
