It's not Battlefield with wacky Scientology folks. It's not an album by an angry rap-rock group. It's a sweet looking alien invasion flick. Wow that looks pretty awesome. Has a District 9 feel to it....District 9 meets Black Hawk Down. Of course, Skyline looked pretty good with it's first trailer. But I hope this isn't that...I love Sci-Fi films....well good Sci-Fi.
wow an alien invasion movie where finally the leads isnt some random civilians with no survival training or instinct some how end up being the last ones to survive while trained military grunts are swatted like flies... its pretty cool that the lead protagonists are Marines here.
This movie may be good, but based on that preview it looks nothing like the underlying-theme-filled District 9. Kind of looks like just a pure action flick, and based on the director's resume that has Texas Chainsaw Massacre as his crowning achievement, I'm guessing that's all it will be. Looked cool though.
Looks entertaining and might check it out but this movie is one of my pet peeves about alien invasion movies. Why would technologically advanced aliens capable of interstellar travel bother to bring their ships down to the planet surface and fight us essentially hand to hand using small arms? Wouldn't aliens just bombard us from space where they are safe from our primitive chemical projectile weapons? I mean it would be like us invading a medieval society and deciding we need to get out of our helicopter gun ships and fight them with bayonets.
This is one of the things I liked about Independence Day. The Aliens had no interest in getting into direct battles. Their goal was our planet's resources and they were simply wiping us out so we wouldn't get in their way. They used their superior technology to simply devastate cities and used their little fighters when the situation prevented the big ship from doing the damage required.
Pretty much how the 'system lords' in Stargate did it. Who knows, though- maybe these aliens want to conquer our cities. Many battles aren't about absolute annihilation, they're about conquering. In WWII, the only cities/countries the Germans wanted to exterminate were in Russia (Moscow and Stalingrad). The rest they wanted to develop into satellite provinces.
I love me some Michelle Rodriguez, lets just hope her acting chops are better than her boxing.. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2EUiCfBBX2k?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2EUiCfBBX2k?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
Skyline was terrible. So, so terrible. My girlfriend laughed so hard when he did that "run his fingers down her nose" thing. Did you know they are actually going to make another film?! Lol This looks pretty good however.
