jump.. I think ive done it twice. its not hard to bounce it once you get the hang of it. I play a lot of horse so I kinda figured out how the ball will bounce off the backboard
Drew Gooden did it last week. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YveMYahxtvM?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/YveMYahxtvM?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
Oh yeah i did this one time really really fast and i hit the back board but the back board hit me too so i slip fall. SUCCESS
   lol, are you sure you're catching on to the correct cause to go with that effect?
looking at the play-by-play they didn't count it as a shot so it was nothing (which is the right call).
LOL that was pretty impressive considering he almost missed the backboard. I can't imagine the amount of FAIL if he was off by just an inch or two.
You don't get an assist or a rebound for that - if you did, Bob Sura would be in the record books for 3 consecutive triple doubles. As it be, they took away the last rebound of his last triple double as he intentionally threw the ball off the backboard for his last rebound. A rebound is strictly defined as something that occurs after a shot attempt and since Sura's try(like Kobe's) wasn't an attempt it can not be a rebound. By that definition, if someone had grabbed that ball off the backboard before Kobe, I suppose that means it would have been a steal. It can't be an assist either because assisting one's self would be in direct violation of traveling rules. ....basically what Kobe did was skirt a traveling loophole(it's traveling unless it hits the backboard, rim, or another player) so the whole play is just a shot attempt. The irony is Kobe still traveled because he hadn't released the ball before he came off his back pivot foot but that the sort of loose enforcement the NBA is known for in order to have a more fluid game that fans want to see.
...if you want to have a career night or make the highlight reel, the Knicks are your team this year aren't they? Kevin Love's 30/30 night - now Drew Freaking Gooden is clowning on them on the boards. I stand by my previous assessment that Amare is overrated as a big man.
here it is the vince carter dunk: <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/hQuw20KDfrw?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hQuw20KDfrw?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

I don't know how that was not called a travel. He took four steps before he bounced the ball to himself.
Seemed pointless, he had a clear path to the basket for an easy layup after beating his man. At worst he would have drawn a foul, which would have been the safe play. He was just showing off.
