There's really no way he'll make it unless the Rockets have a decent record. Either that... or he has to be 20-10 by the time selections are made. Zach Randolph made it last year being 20-10... that's really the only shot I give Luis. I highly doubt he'll be voted in, even with China's votes.
C Yao he'll go whether he deserves it or not F Nowitzki him, duncan, or melo will also get voted in with KD F Durant listed as forward, they don't separate sf and pf F/C Gasol F Carmelo F Duncan If pau goes as a center, it will come down to Scola and Millsap If pau goes as a forward than they'll have to select some undeserving center to backup yao, and no frontcourt spots will be left.
You know, surprisingly most Chinese fans are Laker fans. My grandfather just came to visit from China and he said everyone there loves Kobe the most and the 2nd team is the Rockets.
Luis Scola is a must for the all-star game... Luis in comparison to Duncan, Nowitzki, Millsap and Gasol(IDK if Gasol is considered a forward given that his being playing center all season) Luis Scola: 22.5 PPG| 10.5 REB| 2.3 AST Tim Duncan: 13.4 PPG| 8.5 REB| 2.0 BLKS Paul Millsap: 21.9 PPG| 9.3 REB| 2.5 AST Dirk Nowitzki: 22.8 PPG| 8.4 REB| 1.5 AST *Pau Gasol: 23.3 PPG| 12.3 REB| 4.2 AST ..... BTW, I think Fan voting only counts toward the starters, the bench is based on Coach voting if I remember correctly...
I'm sorry, but Scola needs to learn to play defense before I give him my vote. He may be the worst defensive player on our team.
He won't be in it. True he has heart and hustle, but his overall game, or at least his reputation of his overall game, doesn't measure up. People forget that the ASG is as much about national fanbase as it is about skill/stats. Duncan= multiple MVP's and Championships, Gasol= ROY franchise player and multiple championships, Yao= China and ppl forget how dominant he was and how he earned his fame. Maybe in a year or two, if Scola keeps this up.
i dont think many ppl know this but he is extremely popular in china, probably the most popular rocket after Yao. Here is to hoping that the chinese get on board and vote there butts off. I for one will vote as many times as i can for him.
Did you know Ariza and Scola were 5th and 6th last year's voting in the loaded west forward spots lol? Scola is a shoe-in now that he's a full-time starter
I normally don't throw up five stars for a thread, but I did that this morning. I honestly don't vote for ASG, but I will this year. I think you can vote up to 25 times. If you go to a game at Toyota Center this year, make sure you fill out the ballots too. Sure there are one billion people in China, but I don't think one billion people are connected to the internet.
You guys need to remember that only the STARTERS are voted in by the fans!!The coaches decide the BENCH, and from what I've heard a lot of NBA front offices(which include coaches) have been raving about Luis Scola. If he keeps up this numbers(which I think he can), his a shoe in to make the All-Star team.
Even if all one billion had internet, how many actually watch NBA? Out of those who watch NBA, how many will actually vote for the ASG? Out of those who will vote for the ASG, how many will be Rocket fans?
