On the ESPN Toronto board they are saying that Charlie Pallilo is stating that the Raps and Rox are in trade talks regarding Kenny...No word yet on the return, but the motivation is apparently that there won't be enough playing time/starting option for Kenny's liking in Houston...will keep checking for any further news...
There is no word on the return yet, only fan speculation, but the actual trade talks are reported to have a legit source: Pallilo on 610...I'm not in Houston, but the word I get about Pallilo is that he's a very solid source with good insider info...true?
I can't recall Pallilo having what would be called "insider info" before but that doesn't mean he doesn't in this case. os
I remember hearing this Pallilo guy on some post game show called "Rockets Wrap" like 12yrs ago. Back then at least, he didn't know his head from his ass when it came to bball and was only talking on the air about the Rox b/c he was basically a good talker.
If this is true I'd be happy for KT, but jeez I hope it's for a 1st round pick, what else do they have (that they'd give up) would we be interested in? KT for a second rounder is pointless to me, he's a valuable back-up (and no, I don't think he can log heavy minutes as a 3). I'd love to hear speculation about this one.
A 1st is unlikely, as the Raps traded their 1st pick last year, making this year's pick untradeable, and they just traded a future 1st in the Murray trade...In terms of speculation, on the Toronto end it's ranging all over the place, from Chris Jeffires to Michael Bradley to Jerome Williams to MoPete, and including Moochie coming back the other way. That's just fan talk, though... P.S...just a thought that occured to me...given all the bring back Dreamers in here, and the possible trade talks with Toronto, I'm wondering how long it'll take for someone to make that connection...
IF there's anything to this, I guess it would be a concession that Antonio Davis will be moving back to the 5, thus getting Kenny would give them added depth at the 4, with Williams, assuming he's not going to Houston in the trade...They would then have a defensive/rebounder at the 4 (Williams) and an offensive 4, especially for the smaller East, (Thomas) who can also play some 3 for them...
hmm.. good point.. and like carter said he will go crazy this year and explode so maybe raptors will give him the ball more to score on iono..
Houston Gets: Mo Peterson Toronto Gets: Kenny Thomas I don't know? A deal will never sound feasible because it appears that we are so deep at every position that there won't be enough minutes around. Everything will not pan out exactly like we hope , and there is a serious log jam at the 4 that needs to be attended to. We should have that problem solved before it becomes a cancer, but I want to get even in return for what we give up. At the same time what can we get in return that we need? A backup 2guard? IMO, I think Kenny's more valuable than any backup 2guard in the L. What do we need? It's like we're either set at a position or there is a need for development time for young players. Maybe Kenny for someone's unprotected future 1st round pick.
It's worth noting that this rumor originated (on the ESPN board) from the CC.net poster "Looogie", who has a lot of very quality takes. He's not like the majority of the posters at ESPN, which are trash... I think Peterson is the most likely candidate, especially since Toronto just got another swingman yesterday in Lamond Murray. However, I wouldn't count out Michael Bradley. Remember, last year, the Rockets were trying to get Toronto to deal Bradley in the S&T for Dream. I think Bradley is capable of playing more minutes at the 5 than KT, and he also has more range. In addition, while he's a quality big man, he's still developing, so he wouldn't require quite the PT this season that KT would.
Interestingly enough, KT and Collier for Peterson and Bradley works on Real GM. But why would we do it?
