Wishfull thinking.......Brooks/Battier for Rubio/Beasly, that may be more enticing. And yeah i wanna do something crazy as opposed to staying pat and watching the parade go by, at least we can begin having fun while watching them lose and be on our way to become a Pistons type team.
Beasley is their best player right now and they are not gonna give him up lightly. Why would a rebuilding team want Battier?
same reason he's here, stability. Except they need it more than we do, our issue right now is too much stability and are in need of some spontaneous bold players with true passion and desire to both play hard for themseleves and for the team (in other words we have too many pu55ies here in Houston).
poor man's david lee...have plenty with the rockets such as jordan hill and .Wow morey/adelman are really becoming delusional if this is what they're going after: dampier, kevin love, brad miller?!?!?.
It figures. Morey seems to always look for "buy low" opportunities, and Love fighting with his coach could translate to a good deal for the Rockets. I wonder where Morey would rank Kevin Love compared to our young bigs, Hill or Patterson. And I wonder which players were offered for Love.
Love is far from untouchable and can be had. Especially since they have no idea what direction they are going in Minnesota. They mailed it in before the season even started. They sent it out in a newsletter for the fans. However they might of hit a homerun getting Beasley from Miami. It looks like the light has finally came on for the guy. And really that's who we should we be going after. He'll be a Carmelo type if he keep its up. His game is very similar.
Every aspect of Love's game is worse then Scola's. Only reason to trade for him is if you're rebuilding.
Love is a better passer and a better 3-point shooter than Scola. But, yeah, I'd rather have Scola (who is more proven AND locked into a somewhat-reasonable long-term deal) than Love (who may be due a big payday if he plays well).
Love is a better rebounder as well -- which is probably his best attribute. He's also a hell of a lot younger than Scola, and it would allow you to get out of paying a 33-34 year old big money down the line.
At the end of the day Scola is a better scorer, better defender, and a very good rebounder. Love adds nothing to this team. The only move that makes this team into a contender again is one for a strong defender like Iguodala. No team has ever won the title without a two-way star leading them. Or Yao could become the old Yao...
Hmn.....I can see Adelman wanting a big who can pass and shoot from outside. (Love.) Scola is great, a hard worker, gets the most out of his limited athleticism. His defense, however.....Ugh. Love won't improve our defense. If we somehow traded for him (big IF), we would also have to shore up the defense elsewhere. (Iguodala comes to mind. But there's another big IF.)
