lol. We'll wait for you to look back over LeBron's history and join the rest of us in thinking LeBron is more like McGrady than Jordan.
Y'all are comparing a quitter (lebron) vs McGrady...can u see he played injured in the playoffs and never complain...and put big points...and NEVeR gave up the rockets...cough* cough* lechoke...the only problem about mrgrady is the very second last yes he had with the rockets...but McGrady has more heart than lebron I can tell u that....
First of all, a triple double is meaningless when you lose, but you missed the point. LeBron NEVER accepts responsibility for anything but successes, and he's always quick to find someone else to put the blame on. If you watched any of Deion Sanders interview of Ray Lewis last night, then you'd know exactly what I mean. If you didn't see it, google it and listen to the part about blame and responsibility. Ray Lewis is a bonafide, proven leader, and LeBron does exactly what Lewis says you cannot do if you're trying to lead your team and inspire your team. In fact, LeBron is totally counterintuitive when it comes to leadership. He gives his teammates other people to blame so they never have to accept it themselves. LeBron is quick to pass the blame, then tuck his tail between his legs and run.
i said it last night, lebron quit on his team. after he turned it over down by like 5 with some time left miami traps the ball baseline with two people and lebron just stands there watching, doesn't jump for the ball, doesn't put his hands up, totally gave up...then his 3 pointer....OFF THE SIDE OF THE BACKBOARD? lebron is such a 12 year old girl
I agree about the similarity between LeBron and TMac, not the quitting, but the dumb things they say to the media. It's just stupid to say that you are tired of playing heavy minutes when you are supposed to be the franchise guy. It just gives people more fuel to say that he doesn't want to accept responsibilities, and that he just wants to be a second banana.
LeBron got out of the first round and carried his team to the finals? There is no McGrady comparison... Woj continues his mission to dismantle LeBron's image; from that article, you wouldn't think he was an assist away from another triple double.
All Woj does is bash LeBron. His reads are interesting but the LeBron thing is old. Woj get some new material...
I do agree he seems to go a bit over the top to condemn James but I think it just has to do more with James' primadonna persona and how James is the one person who can change the culture of the league and its players. Right now Lebron is influencing a new generation of potential NBA superstars and you do not want the next wave of stars 5-6 years from now to act like the way James does because the wish to emulate him both on and off the court. Woj & others are tearing him down..lets say the top 15 players born after 1996 decide that they want to also join up with their friends whom they known from AAU, various Nike teams etc.. whats going to happen is there will be these "super teams" and that will be bad business overall when there will only be draws in the major cities - LA, NY, Chicago etc...you may actually start seeing contraction in the league
LeBron is 25 years old! Playing Boston. Already lost to them once so he's got something to prove. He's not a competitor I guess. He should want to play the whole game! I can't believe he's complaining about 44 minutes. Maybe if they didn't get down by so much early, he could of rested. Man. I can't believe he's saying this. It's never his fault..
1) If wins and loses are all you look at I guess Adam Morrison is better than Gerald Wallace. I find it ridiculously funny you're only blaming the one guy who put up the best individual statline of the game. 2) Miami isn't just his team. It belongs to all three of them. It isn't one alpha male leading two pack dogs. It was supposed to be a three headed beast. If I was Lebron I would be pissed too. He left Cleveland so he wouldn't do everything, and he lands on a team that plays him for 44 minutes. 3) Blame shouldn't fall on the best performer of the team. Why should LBJ pass something that isn't meant for him? I'm supposed to criticize LBJ for being such a poor leader when Wade drops 2-12? Wade can't even hold his own on the court, forget leading other people. Again LBJ had 35 pts and a near triple double and was one of the most efficient players on the Miami team. I'd rather have the guy who whines and moans a lot but produces the goods over the guy who says all the right things on camera but plays like crap when the going get tough.
Wade has been putting up all around numbers lately...this game (i didnt watch) seemed to be either good defense or fatigue catching up to him....Lebron may have played too many minutes, but im not sure why you'd complain when you made the decision to got to a stripped down team because you thought three guys, including yourself, were good enough to carry the whole load. He made his bed...
Do you even know what you're saying? Lebron isn't a robot, even if he wants to win he has to get some rest. Resting isn't a choice, its a freaking necessity. Also it wasn't his fault. Its rarely his fault when his team loses, that why he's won MVP by a landslide his production has almost always been elite level.
It's supposed to be a three-headed beast but watch the games. When Lebron is in, he has the ball in his hands 90% of the time. He dribbles it up, he makes the decision on what to do with it. Just like in Cleveland, Lebron is dominating the ball so much that people start standing around and watching him. Maybe that's the offense they're running in Miami, or maybe it's just how Lebron wants to play since it's kind of a coincidence that Cleveland and Miami are now playing exactly the same way with entirely different rosters.
I got no problem with Woj bashing LeBron. If you don't want to read an article bashing LeBron then don't read Woj's stuff, no one is forcing any one here to do so. If you want to read stuff that massages LeBrons ego then go read Henry Abbott on True Hoop because he is the anti Woj and will innundate you with LeBron stuff on a fairly regular basis if you're so inclined.
I don't think anybody is saying he should play that many minutes in a regular season game. The point is why call out your coach in the media 9 games into the season unless you want to create drama? All he had to do was go to his coach in the locker room and say he can't handle that many minutes. Lebron knows the media is pushing for Riley to come back and is fueling dissension with comments like this. If you think that's good team leadership, then we disagree on the meaning of team leadership.
LeBron is playing 37:30 minutes a game - the lowest of his career. Sometimes franchise players have to play the entire game to get the W. It's your damn duty when you're the MVP and best player on your team to carry that burden sometimes. When your centerpiece is complaining about having to play heavy minutes to win one game, you've got a problem.
probably a power play by lebron. he doesn't like riley's heavy handed control, he wants to be the one in charge, so he puts pressure on riley's job by losing a bunch of games, then says, hey if you do what i tell you, we'll win more. BAM riley is under lebron's thumb. and if not, then the team will keep losing until the owner is forced to get another coach, one that is more pliable to lebron's demands.
Agreed all solid points. I just think he's so annoyed with LeBron that he over exaggerates the story. I mean it's an interesting read but it's like reading a soap opera script. LeBron's persona is flat out cocky, and he doesn't care who knows it. Woj makes it a mission to expose that, I guess he didn't see that Nike commercial.
You guys are brutal. I can only imagine the talk that would have gone on in MJ's first 7 years. Now he is fondly remembered as a "winner" and "competitor" instead of a diva ballhog. He's lucky there were no Internet coaches back then!
