Hence why you continue to try and upgrade if the current roster isnt working out. This works two fold. You get a upgrade and then if we lose we get a higher draft pick also.

I know the Cavaliers made a move for Lowry on the offseason. Maybe we can trade him for Lebron James. He shouldn't be too hard to get, I have been reading the headlines in Cleveland, and apparently they hate the guy now for some reason. Make the move Morey.

We traded for Clyde, Chuck, Steve, and Tracy. We've acquired more stars through trades or free agency, over the last 30 years, than any teams other than maybe Boston or LA. The trick is not giving up too much or in getting a guy on the downside of his career.

At this point, we either have to be patient for the right situation, and that could take years, or bottom out and rebuild though the draft. There are no easy answers.

From the examples cited maybe the trick for the Rockets is to go after the guy on the downside of his career.

We're cleveland....superstars dont want to come here via free agency unless theyre overpaid and they dont want want to come here in a trade unless they want a title ASAP and we've got the help for them....

Which is why i kept saying cleveland needed had to try and sign and trade lebron or else they were going to take forever to rebuild through the draft alone. If we dont get lucky and get some good talent with #1 picks, where would this franchise be? If morey's plan is to keep this team from ever sucking consistently, then getting a superstar via trade is the only strategy.

But like i said before, it's not realistic with the security today's superstar's are feeling, so we're SCREWED very likely, at least for another year or two.

The dream team crap is going to slowly destroy the NBA. As it is, it's looking more and more likely that the Rockets will have no choice but to do a complete tear down, unless the new CBA makes it more difficult for players to congregate to one team. I've said it before, if Boston, Miami, Chicago, NY, and LA are the only teams who have multiple superstars, the NBA will wither on the vine.

Your an idiot. We are not Cleveland. As long as we have Yao maybe but not that kind of franchise in any haters stretch of the imagination. Dont kill things you dont want here by associating us with horrbile destinations and teams who are otherwise like the plague to free agents like Cleveland and Toronto. We are not those franchises as far destintations. We hold alot more value if we have a good team. Thats why Carmelo mentioned us as a possible signing destination. Tmac wanted here. Francis wanted here.

I'm an idiot? Let me remind you of something you wrote earlier today in reply to someone else's post, in another thread:

    Who's the real idiot now?

Francis didnt want to come here specifically, he just wanted to get away from Canada. Tmac was already taken into consideration in the post you quoted, so read it again and this time pay attention.

Trading for a superstar isn't a real strategy, it's the only one right now.

Doing anything else is just blowing smoke up fans buttocks.

You attacked Houston Rockets as a club in your post and as a destination. You are an idiot. Just reread your post.

Let me remind of your post. Francis didnt want to come here specifically but didnt want to go to crappy team that drafted him and loved coming here instead. Pay attention.

Let me remind you of my post again.

Where I stated the reason within my personal attack to combat your logic. I also gave good evidence.

Dude, maybe you need a timeout. You just made three posts in a row and quoted yourself in the last one. Looks to me like you've gone round the bend and lost your way, with all due respect.

    Harrison Barns.

The only way the Rockets can get a superstar is through draft. There is no superstars in the NBA right now that wants to play for Houston. I mean no one wants to play with Yao Ming who only plays 24 mins a game.

The Rockets have a good all around team. But they are missing a cornerstone to really build this team around. This team just doesn't have that closer. Even the Wizards have a closer in their rookie John Wall.

Having a superstar on this team makes it easier to put the pieces in place. Having a star that this team can go to down the stretch which making it easier for everyone else.

But basically this team must draft a superstar because they will not be able to trade for one nor able to sign a big free agent. Not many stars in the league wants to play with a Center that can only play 24 mins a game and incredibly injury prone. Yao was the cornerstone on this team couple of years ago and it ended in disappointment year after year. So out with the old and in with the new. Hopefully the Rockets can be lucky enough to nab a diamond in the rough.

They can have as many good players on this team but they will never be contenders or even be mentioned in the breath of contending until they have a true star. For now, as good and deep as they are, they're still no where near the top tier teams.

Weird, i supposedly "attacked" the rockets and yet you're the only one complaining. I think others understood my comparison to Cleveland. Maybe once you cool down and take a time out you'll see it more clearly.

You really shouldnt' keep calling me names. Someone once said it just means you don't have the mental capacity to find a better argument, or you have none.

By the way, Melo only used Houston as leverage, much like Bosh did.

    Good night!
