Hey guys.... I'm really trying to fix this problem without rebooting my entire PC because I need to backup alot of pictures of the baby and such and they are in all different locations ect... So I'm trying to figure out how to fix this. Is there a clean copy of explorer.exe I can download off the net?
You should be able to reboot your computer...I think....do you have the original disks? Boot off of that. DD
Did someone trick you into deleting explorer.exe? No problem, just hit alt+F4 and it will restore itself.
You'll need to give an OS and whether it's 32 or 64 bit. Try this.... Get the task manager (ctrl+alt+del) File tab (alt+F) --> Run Type and submit: Explorer If that doesn't exist, or if you can't find it online, use the backrup recovery disk and Repair instead of Reformat. PS. Aliens did it.
I had this issue one time, I went to system recovery/restore and went back to a good 3 weeks to a month before and just had the system recover itself. Problem solved.
Ok doing the ctrl alt del... run... explorer doesn't work. explorer.exe isn't on my computer at all, it's been deleted. My antivirus software deleted a virus, unfortunately, the virus was in explorer.exe . Cant find my backup disk. I'm even going to New Task> and browsing Control Panel> System a and Maintenance> Backup and restore center--- And nothing is there. Doesn't open up anything. Its 32bit and Vista.
Try running system restore before the operating system boots, rather then while inside the operating system. When you first power on the computer, you should see "System Recovery" as one of the F options (F2, F7, F12, F10 - depends on your comp).
i think you need to type explorer.exe instead of just explorer. if that doesn't work, system recovery. plus, i think if you upgrade or reinstall with windows 7, it automatically saves all your files in a folder called windows.old. double check.
You must listen to this here dude: ANYTHING he types, I will believe, sir. "Pink skies tonight", I'll believe. "It will rain cats and dogs tonight," I will believe. "Yao will get over the injury hump", I will believe. I will believe anyone with trust in their nickname.
ok try this Start menu -> Run and type in "Explorer.exe" Or Windows button +r and type "Explorer.exe" or if not then you should be able to download an explorer.exe file off the internet somewhere. if you have a spare vista disc you can preload it off of there. i think the command is sfc /scannow not sure what it was for vista. but whne you run with vista start in safe mode.
Some computuers like Dell and HP have a recovery partition, meaning a recovery disk is backed up on your harddrive. Might want to look up that option if explorer.exe and System Restore doesn't work...
government got wind of you making noise about their 9/11 plot on the intertubes. delete your account here before they backtrace it and call the cyberpolice. otherwise consequences will never be the same.
