Relax. Hitler is just buying his time until we can make a 2nd half of the season push for the 8th seed so we can have our revenge on the Lakers. I see wut you did thur Hitler.
I was screaming at the TV when I saw RA come back with KLow, Shane, and Chuck. Ah, well. RA didn't hear me. Anyway, the only thing that could make me stop watching is if they go crazy and sign Dampier. At least I can root for the guys on our present roster...
Should have played Jordan Hill down the stretch it makes no sense to me why you wouldn't want a guy whose been playing the best defense in the paint for you on the court when you are being out rebounded. I don't know what the deal is between Adelman and Hill, but Adelman needs to cave in and let this kid get his minutes.
Rockets look awful. Part of it is the personnel and a BIG part of it is the coach. The Rockets are a disappointment because I thought they would be a really good team this year. At 1-6, their record does not come off as an anomaly, but the reality of this team. Rick really needs to go. He does not know how to utilize his assets.
i agree completely, in fact i think all of our losses besides maybe one are on Rick, he makes the stupidest crunch time decisions, and i'm really getting sick of this loyalty to hayes and no Hill. I'm really sick of it, DM needs to step in and get RA's head straight now.
Personally, I think Rick is obsessed with his motion, high post offense and Hill has looked pretty not good playing that role this year. "But Hayes, oh Hayes can pass really well so I'll play him!" It's like Rick is only thinking one way.
I get what Rick was doing, he was trying to go with the proven defensive players, when John Wall was going nuts on them. A shame all our defensive players are flawed as heck. Battier is on the downslide of his abilities, still smart but not nearly athletic enough to be considered the best one on one defender by anyone now. Hayes is short for a PF/C nuff and Lowry is coming off injury. I get what he was doing but yeah, dropped the ball, despite Scola and Martin once again trying to put the team their backs.
You know, Jared Jeffries is a long, active defender/rebounder. Why not give him a few minutes? And Kyle, bless his heart, can't make a shot. Play Ish! Play Bud! Play JHill! Trot Martin and Miller out there with the young guns, and we win tonight.
But here's the real problem. In the final 4 minutes, Wall wasn't going nuts in the half-court. He was going nuts in transition. You get into transition from rebounding missed shots and forcing turnovers. Battier has one offensive move. Stand in the short corner. Hayes can only position rebound. Anyone over 6'9" easily goes over him unless he has perfect position. If you can't generate offense and you aren't rebounding...you'll probably put up 4 points in the final 4 minutes.
Bottom line is if you are playing Shane Battier and Chuck Hayes down the stretch in the 4th quarter, you are NOT a good team.
Absolutely, it's frustrating that he forgets in the NBA you have to play both ends to win. Brad Miller doesn't even count on the defensive end, and Chuck Hayes has not been all that stellar himself. Rick needs to stop with the master RA plan and improvise here, go with whose hot and allow them to get some PT. At least see what comes out of it, before running back to plan A. Jordan Hill has done very well on defense, and has actually shown the Rockets he can be a presence in the paint on both ends if given the chance. I always thought Rick was a players coach, now is a good time Rick, give Hill his chance.
