So this is a question that goes out to the people here who have been commish on Y! sports leagues before. in a 12 team league and the commish says he did not change any of the default trade vetos he then says it takes 4 votes to veto a trade...or a commish veto now i dont particularly care about the trade it may effect me in week 12 or 13 when i go up against the guy who would win in the trade but the commish is going to up against this guy this week. our league has 5 teams tied for first and right now the guy who would win the trade is ranked #8 (the team losing is ranked #10) so my question is: is there a way to know if a commish veto a trade or if it was a votes veto... i dont care to know who voted and who didnt just curious if the commish right now is being honest with it since i've nevered commish a FF league myself EDIT: I read the rules online about the 4 team votes...ok those are standard Yahoo rules...but still wondering if there is a way to know if a commish veto'ed a trade or if it was votes
I don't know. I know if I change a add/drop a player on a roster it shows a (c) next to the move in the transactions section in Facebook. I've never vetoed a trade as a commish in any league. Its also been a few years since I've seen one get vetoed. Did you get an email saying the trade had been vetoed? I would think it might say, but the trade partners might be the only ones to get that email.
we got a trade saying that the trade was accepted but i just looked at the page on yahoo and it says the trade is vetoed but all it says is "vetoed" nothing to indicate if it was done by the commish or voted on. I've got a feeling that 1) the commish vetoed it and if he did even if its lopsided thats stupid to do when the vote option is there my more likely suspicion is that the commish didnt veto it but he persuaded the other people in the league to vote against it as I got a msg this morning from the commish asking me if i voted or not and how unfair the deal was. like i said personally the trade doesnt matter to me its between two 4-5 teams that probably wont make the playoffs...maybe one would with this trade if the trade involved any of the other 4 teams (since i am one of the teams) that were 6-3 i would have voted against the trade. if there was a way to know if a commish vetoed the trade i would just like to know. I have no real way of asking everyone if they voted for/against the trade since i dont really know the other ppl in the league but the commish knows everyone in the league at a personal level and talks to everyone and he said he talked to 8 people (including myself) and 6 voted no and myself and other said we didnt vote...he thought one of us were lying because he thought 7 votes, not 4 were needed to veto a trade i dont like the idea of the commish talking to each team manager about if they voted on a trade or not...we all get emails from the league in yahoo we all get emails on it if we want to we would vote on it...just seems fishy and i suspect if he didnt veto the trade himself as commish he persuaded others to vote for it. the trade as proposed was: maclin, bess, vernon davis for stephen jackson and andre johnson the only thing that bugged me was i offered fred jackson, dez bryant and ben watson for just jackson and was turned down
I'm definitely not a veto-nazi by any means, but that trade is one of the most lopsided deals I have ever seen. I assume you'd be the one getting S-Jax and Andre.
nope i am not even involved in this trade at all my friend is getting jax and andre but he is worried/upset that the commish either veto'ed the trade on his own (which i would understand but would be upset at since the commish also pulled off an equally lopsided trade 2 weeks ago) or the commish is using his influence in that he knows everyone in the league at a personal level since 7 (including the commish) play together in a weekly bball league and is getting them to veto the trade through persuasion rather than their own choice since the commish's week 10 matchup is my friend. At with 5 teams tied for first at 6-3 losing one game could be huge right now
IMO trade overrides are BS. Either don't invite noobs into your league or prepare to deal with the consequences if you do. Typically it will tell you how a veto was issued, either by league vote or commish override.
