Remember though, lowry wants to be a starter and AB wont be happy coming of the bench, I dont know how thats gona get settled but one of them is getting traded to me we are seeing our back up point guard (ish smith)coming up and i like his game definitely not bad for a back up point guard.
if ish turn out to be good. Kelly would be the most likely to be out since ish will cover up the loss. ab is the second best shooter on the team and you can not find that in kelly or ish. but i would like to see ab in the second unit. if ish turn out just a good 3rd pg, no one will be traded.
WOW! A couple of good halves of basketball & people are ready to ship out AB or Lowry? WOW! Pro sports is a truth machine, and after a few film sessions by opposing coaches Ish is going to have to make a jumpshot, and you may see the birth of HACK-A-ISH. Talk about knee-jerk reactions! Let's keep them all and see what happens.
i agree with what you say, but i think that trading AB would give us a higher chance of landing us a player of all star caliber. And if this does happen, i think our team would get a lot stronger, because i believe that a kyle lowry, and a ish smith can lead our rockets.
I would trade Lowry because Lowry already has a bad contract. While I'm sure Brooks will get his bad contract soon, it hasn't happened yet.
Lowry is the best PG on the team and even advance stats prove it. I haven't seen enough of Ish Smith yet, but what Lowry brings to the team is > Brooks. Kyle is THE best guard in the lg at drawing fouls, one of the best rebounding PGs if not the best. He pushes the pace, plays tough D, get steals, is the strongest and has a good mid-range shot that he doesn't utilize enough. He even finishes better than Brooks on the inside despite drawing a ton of contact most of the time.
This thread is fricking ridiculous. Smith plays well one game against the wolves and people are ready to trade AB and for what?? nobody even points out potential people we can acquire with him? do we expect to get better by trading AB?
rockets will prolly feel like crap once ish smith and lowry start missing wide open jumpers. thats one reason why we need to keep aaron brooks, unless we can get an instant offense, instant impact player in return of course.
Give Ish a couple more games before you can make an assumption that he makes Lowry or AB expendible. My guess is that he will but only time will tell. If he does than I have always been for trading Brooks if you can get an impact player in return. Seeing that there really isnt very many all-star calliber players available, I dont see Morey moving Brooks any time soon. If he gets moved it will be at the trade deadline. Lowry isnt getting moved because A. New contract allows him a no-trade policy until after the new year B. You wouldnt be able to get much in return for everything he does for the team. Plus when Lowry goes down, our bench just doesnt product half as well. He is extremely vital to this team winning down the stretch and Morey knows this. That is why he got the contract he got in the offseason.
I voted AB, and for what it's worth, my vote would be the same even if Ish were terrible. I'd do it for two reasons: A) Brooks has the most perceived value around the league B) I don't want the Rockets to be the ones paying an undersized guard who struggles with passing, defense, and getting to the line the outrageous contract he's going to get this summer. Nobody is saying that Brooks is expendable or that we should just give him away, but Houston shouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger if the right deal comes along.
Man you guys are quick to judge a player ish has 1 decent game and everyone acts like he is the next steve nash. Lets wait 3-4 weeks see if his stats hold true.
I don't believe for one second that we will be able to land this mythical player. And I think it is 100% a failed startegy to do so. That is a strategy of hope...not one of reality. DD
I don't think it's likely that any of these guys is traded. The lone exception being if some franchise player somehow becomes available. In which case, Brooks is probably the guy to go, because he's worth the most. Of course, Lowry could be traded in a blockbuster if they need salary to balance the trade. Or, Smith might be a throw-in. So, who really knows what will happen in a trade like that. As BP might put it, it's a low-likelihood, high-impact event. But, that's been the case since the offseason and before Lowry even signed his new contract.
A couple of good halves? THE TEAM WAS 0-5 and playing HORRIBLE PERIMETER D...... BTW, if Brooks is traded for Iggy, it doesn't mean that no more PG could come (that's why I suggested Hinrich, Rockets have assets to convice the wizards to release him).... As posted before, we have pelnty of assets to land another PG is Brooks is traded...and why Brooks, because his MIP award grands the best trade value possible, as simple as that....
Brooks has always been known as low play maker Point Guard. He should concentrating as a Scoring Guard- 20 pts a game.
please slow down to make decision. ish's shooting bothers me alot. if ab gone, who will be able to make the last shot? in most cases, one on one iso is the play most teams will take. km might come into everyone mind but he is not best at beating defender by dribbling. he is good at fake and draws fouls. if defender doesn't buy, rox is doomed. we don't have anyone who can carry this team down the stretch in the 4th qt. ab is most reliable one we have right now. unless trading him gets a top notch player who can take over the game anytime he is needed.
