I think he's the second coming of Kelvin Cato. Not a terrible player but will not be a superstar.

It seems BMiller is the start Centre if YAO is retired.
Don't forget, Adm called Miller back as his daughter for a sweet salary.

Right. Just like everybody else on the team, except Yao.

Hill is not tall enough for C starter, unless this is Brooks' team!

Hill still has lots to work on but he will be very good once he gets more pt. Dawson working on his game will greatly help him if continues to work at it.

I'd like JHill for a starting PF for the future- he shows a really defensive minded approach. He just needs to work on a more consistent jumper and to finish above the rim when given the opportunity. I see his potential to become a poor man's Amare Stoudemire. ;)

But if he is traded, I wouldn't cry over spilt milk.

In my opinion, he did do well against Timmy Duncan. Well enough to interfere somewhat for 8/15 fg last Saturday. Given he's also lost a step..

I would like as much time possible with him playing to make a judgement on him first.

Hill will almost definitely be traded this season. That doesn't mean he is a bad player. He's just redundant on this team. He rebounds very well and plays pretty good defense (2 blocks a game in 20 minutes). Who do we have that rebounds well and plays good defense? Chuck Hayes.

Hill has potential but he will never live up to the No. 8 pick that he was. He could develop into a Tyson Chandler. That is to say that in a couple years he could be a starting center somewhere and averaging close to 10 rebounds a game while playing good defense and getting some put backs here and there.

To put it simply he is just not needed on this team because we have players who can do what he does.

Hill is already better than most #8 picks....

I don't know if #8 is just bad luck (larry hughes (who?) taken in front of Dirk at #9, yeah we all know who he is), Adonal foyle at 8 in front of Mcgrady.

I need a detailed list of the players on the Rockets who avg a block per 10 min.

i dont understand how people keep saying jordan hill sucks, but everytime he plays he shows some type of nba skills. haters are gonna hate. hill could have probably helped against that game opener vs the lakers, and was shocked that hill didn't even play in that game.

Very different player to Stoudemire. Hill doesn't have that scoring instincts, he will never be a scorer. But can score the jumper, finish near de basket and make some post moves. Defensively he's already a better defender and has potential to be elite defender at his position (PF). I see him more between Marcus Camby and Antonio McDyess.

Defense isn't all about blocks. He's showing he is a good shot blocker. He however is also showing he fouls to much. Most centers could get a much higher rate of blocks but in order to do so you have to play reckless. You can't always go for the block. You have to be disciplined and know when going for the block will lead to a foul. In those instances you try to just alter the shot or affect the shooters view. Hill is a great blocker but not as great as his stats currently indicate.

No he is not. Like Landry, Hill is as good as an asset. In fact, Rockets do not have a future yet.

The sample size is wayyy too small. That's like saying "why isn't every 6'6" player playing like Michael Jordan?"
