High post, free throw line jumper.......he should be taking more of them. It's amazing they can't run set plays to get him open for this shot.

Err, say what? Scola gets plenty of ball. I'll admit in the 4th quarter EVERYTHING goes wrong, though. I just don't know if Yao will help that right now.

Yao doesn't get it much because everyone is very hesitant around him. You can tell, on some plays, the mindset is "we haven't used Yao in a while, let's try him." At that point the offense stagnates, someone forces a pass to him, and it's a toss-up of whether it will be a turn-over or a bricked jumper (depends on whether he took off his oven mitts for that particular play).

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Yao, I'm just concerned that we are expecting more than he can give us in the first half of the season.

Weirdly, though, I agree with DD that if he played longer stretches and more minutes, the chemistry would improve, Yao's timing would improve, and the guys passing to Yao would get used to such an unusual target.

5 star thread, and such a breath of fresh air after all those kneejerk threads. God I hate those people  .
