Brad Miller has played 24, 3, 16 and 0 minutes during the Rockets 4 losses.

Rick Adelman lobbied for his former pet and the Rockets are paying him $5 million on the premises that he'll allow the Rockets to always a 7 footer on the floor when Yao sits and help everyone run the Adelman motion offense.

The early return does not look good. After 1 decent game, Adelman has been mostly unwilling to even put him in the game and Miller has been ineffective even when he plays. Yeah, I know there are "matchup" things to consider, but why spend $5 million on a Yao insurance when you don't think he can match up against the opposing team in half of the games played so far this season?

I hope he turns it around but have the Rockets flushed $5 million down the drain by buying Rick Adelman's zombie pet?

    Situational player.

Jordan Hill's mobility, ability to protect the rim and most importantly, his ability to catch and finish on rolls to the rim, make him the 3rd best big on our roster...

You can't win playing Brad and Chuck a combined 40 minutes. YOU JUST CAN'T.

Brad. What is he good for? Absolutely nothing.

OK now that that's out of the way... I think the ironic thing about Brad is that his role is to spark the offense when it's stagnant in a defensive game.

Our offense hasn't been stagnant yet (last 6 minutes excepted), and it's been the defense that has been having trouble. That's not Miller's role, to boost a defensively anemic team.

I need a bigger sample size, but I think he keeps the ball moving better than Hill or Yao do, which leads to a better functioning, fluid offense.

I think Brad is 'the grindstone'. He sharpens cutters.

Do I think he should get heavy minutes? No. Situational player (like knote said.) We fans (and especially not the coach) should feel obligated to use someone differently just because of his price tag. Sunk costs.

According to Friedman's Twitter, he's still bothered by the ankle injury, so that's hindering his effectiveness. I agree that he hasn't showed much so far, but since we signed him for 2 years, we might as well give it a little more time before hitting the panic button.

Yao goes down he becomes real useful. Right now he is this years David Anderson. Situational player.

i definitely hope it's still the ankle and not RA's stubborn ass not wanting to play him, much like with Hill and JJ. Miller has shown he can still play and he directs the offense very well from his spot.

Maybe, and this falls on both RA and DM.....

If this is another more expensive David Andersen then yes.

Don't really think it matters honestly. Leslie Alexander approved it and for all we know wanted it just as much. Hell Morey could have wanted Brad as much as Adelman.

It's not a long term deal doesn't handy cap us like a Cato or Mo Taylor type deal soI could really care less.

Nah, lets give him a few more games shall we? He's proven to be effective in RAs system in the past and his game does not rely on athletic abilities. So I don't think we should be worried

Well, if Yao gets hurt for the year, we'll need him...

Miller brings some great things to the table IMO but everything he brings is icing on the cake. We don't have an identity yet... no foundation. No purpose. Once we get things together you'll see Miller start to find his place. He plays below the rim but hes tough. He'll bring some much needed energy and intelligence to the court. But we have to get this thing on track first.

I'm pretty sure he leads the league in missed layups.

Personally I would rather see Hill on the floor getting 20 mins a game, at least he can play some defense. And the Rockets offense is only average right now with Miller getting time over Hill, I don't think Hill will hurt them offensively.

If Yao gets hurt for the year, I would rather him not play at all, and the team go for that high draft pick....
