I've not seen too much of Croshere's play, but this is for certain, once I started hearing all this talk about Croshere being so coveted, I though, you guys are crazy. The guy looks slow, he's blanco, and he looks like a stand up guys no attitude.

So, I being the total observer and very open minded went out of my way and found myself into an actual Indiana pacer game. Look I'd heard he was good, I had to see it.

Impressed was an understatement. I was expecting to see something very good and most of the time it's a dissapointment, but Croshere did not disappoint. Croshere should have bee scoring 18+ points per game in a Rocket's style of offence.

When Indiana went to him, he consitently delivered. The only problem is that Indiana had too many players to keep happy so after Croshere makes 4 shots in a row or so, WHAT HAPPENS? He goes to the bench.

UHMMMMMMM!!!! Well I guess bird knows what he is doing.

I don't know much about basketball, but when a player is on fire you don't take him out of the game. Isn't that taught in basketball 1001 at coaching schools?

Croshere would bring some sort of consistency to the offense. Too many times last season the Rockets went on dryspell where nobody was scoring. Hey even steve will have some cold night. IT'S ALL ABOUT DIVERSIFICATION of the scoring.

"Croshere won't be a super star" is what one of you guys said. I concur, but he fits on championship team, and that's what the rockets are trying to become. After the championship the accolations begin.

Agree. I was presently surprised. And let's not forget we won our first title with a providence power forward to boot. So we'll do it again.

Anybody remember Bill donovan and and that other goofy white guy they had playing in the middle. He shot like Allen Leavell, but in the post. Weird.

How dare you criticize Larry Legend. All he did was get the Pacers to the 6th game of the Finals. Croshere is ready to blossom now. Larry brought him along slowly and it paid BIG dividends last year. The sky is the limit as far as how good he can be. He has great instincts for the game (which Larry saw) which is why Larry drafted him.

Hey, Larry was a great player but an overrated coach. Yes, he brought them to the finals. BUT it was against inferior teams. Two years before Bird got there the Pacers were in the EAST championship game. They had talent. Did you ever see him COACH during the game? no. It was all his assistant coaches. AND during the finals, his substitutions were incredible. Even some of players were amazed by what he did sometimes. I think it was Mark Jackson that said "you never know what Larry is going to do"
No rhyme or reason for his substitutions. He would leave jackson on the bench the whole fourth quarter even if he had 20 points so far, and he would have Travis Best, who would be 0-11, shooting up threes at will.

Once again, as a Player he was AWESOME. But as a coach, he is OVERRATED.

Travis Best is quicker than Jackson and creates more offense. Jackson likes to post up whoever is guarding him. Best is a much better shooter than Jackson. Don't get me wrong, Jackson is a very good point guard but, Best has more to offer. Larry was a players coach. He didn't have to coach during games, he had all veterans on the floor and he had confidence in their ability's. Thats why you never saw Harrington or Bender unless it was a blowout.

I gotta agree with Dude. Bird was a good coach, but he wasnt one of the elite coaches; such as Riley, Rudy or Jackson. He was a bit over rated.

Vince: Good thing you put that second post because I thought you were handicapped for a second. [IMG]

Maker, WE will never know if Larry could have been in the ranks with Riley, Jackson and Rudy. He only coached 3 seasons (147-67).
