Recently on my driving expedition, I would come across a road kill animal now and then.. I'm very curious to know what happens to the Road Kill?? Do the Road workers pick it up and just throw it away or does it just decay and all that's left is the bones??
I'm seeing a lot of dead animals on the road lately, and I as a driver and an animal lover, am very careful of not to run over them or kill them..

    I've seen vultures eat them.

They either get picked up, eaten, or they completely decompose to a sludgey, sun-dried paste.

Vultures, that's so cool... If the mafia ever consider getting rid of a dead body, they should just chop it up into little pieces and leave it on the side of the road for the vultures to eat...

Agreed, they get picked up by this guy named Boyd:

And apparently this guy named Dexter killed him. That probably explains why you've been seeing extra carcasses lately.

    The Mexican cartels do that...

    Except for one difference...

The body is usually alive and in one piece when they leave it in the middle of the desert for vultures...

An old friend of mine works for the Texas DOT. His typical workday involves traveling Houston area Texas highways with an outspoken and disgruntled Vietnamese man. They search for dead animals and dispose of them.

Like has been said, in urban areas they have crews to pick them up; in the country, well, varmints & buzzards have to eat too.

Except for the hair and bones....they go for the soft parts first: eyeballs, guts, genetalia. The muscles take awhile. Just in case you needed to know.

I'm pretty sure you won't hurt or kill them since they're already dead. :p
