You know, moon walk, bounce house, whatever. I'm looking at buying one after checking into rental rates, which are $150ish a day. I'd say my price range is around $400 or less. I figure I will get my money's worth out of it long term. I need something that's durable and big. Anyone have any experience with this stuff?
THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID! You pitch them, I hit'em out the park, sir. But, seriously speaking, though... $150'ish? WTH? Is it made of gold? Dude, don't buy one. I know some peeps renting them at about $100... message me through the board, sir.
If you get new from any reputable company for a 13 x 13 they are around $1200-1500 with blower. You can find used for maybe $700-800 in good shape. If you buy the china cheap stuff then you might find for $700-800 new. But its your kids safety for the cheap price. Just FYI..
http://www.junglejumps.com/shop/castle-ii-p-400.php 13 x 13 x 15 $1,595.00 (price includes blower which separately goes for $245)
Screw that. No kids enjoy bouncing around in a padded cell for very long. Invest in this instead. The entire neighborhood will thank you.
I'm not an expert, but if something cost $150/day to rent, I'm fairly certain you won't be able to buy one for $400.
Your statement tells me that you're certainly not even a novice at saving money, much less an expert. I bet you don't think you can afford to buy a house because rent is x amount or you can't buy a car because a cab ride costs x amount. Or hey, the corner video store charges $5 a night for a video game- there's no way you could get it for $30 at the store. Don't take this the wrong way- take it as a wake up call. You can save money in this world by doing just a little bit of research. Example- you can buy an HDMI cable at Best Buy (they're the best because it's in their sign, right?) for $50, OR you can get the same thing at monoprice.com for $5. Deals are out there. Stop being a good little consumer. I remember those things! Good ol days. Back when kids were men and playgrounds were metal and concrete and sharp angles.
You're saying this even though everyone else is telling you they're more expensive? My parents were looking at buying some used ones to use as a side business. They were not that cheap, especially good ones.
You were lucky to have a room in a bounce house! There were a hundred and fifty of us living in t' shoebox in t' middle o' road.
No, I am not an expert at saving money; but I'm pretty good in logic. Renting a $5 video game and buying it for $30 is 6x it's value - which would make your bounce house around $900, so that's probably not a good analogy. But feel free to keep comparing Bouncehouses with HDMI cords. Nevermind that my ignorant-on-how-to-save-money brain has been validated by everyone that has posted about its price in this thread so far. When you find one in a garage sale for $400, I will eat my crow while you fix the defects on it.
