I'll say this about JVG. He drills defensive fundamentals and technique into his players. Adelman has had good defensive teams, but does he know how to mold defensive players or just use what he's inherited?

Yeah. That aint reality dude. Remember when Buddy Ryan punched Gilbride? Gundy would do the same if the Rockets have a big lead and Adelman kept running that run and shoot, quick shot offense.

Something like that. If you want Bud and Hill to develop, you do not bring back JVG.

Let's not bring up the tired "JVG doesn't develop young players" meme that has been debunked many times. JVG doesn't waste playing time on players that suck and never amount to anything.

I've got to admit, when TMac first joined the Rockets and JVG was the head coach, I was a happier Rockets fan.

Yeah tough choice, developing young players or winning..

JVG's team -> "How do we make sure they score less than us?"
Adelman's team -> " How do we make sure we score as many as we can?"

Last time I checked, whoever scores more in a game gets the W.

    You're right...winning

    JVG - 182 - 146 in 4 seasons
    RA - 150 - 100 in 3 season + 4 games

Think we can win 32 to catch Rick up to JVG this season? Might be a stretch.

Nope. The coach is only part of the problem. The on court leader, i.e. the pg, quarterback does not have the composure to lead the team through adversity and through tough pressure especially in the closing minutes.

This reality was shown in a stark contrast between Brooks who was unnerved and jacking up threes and pounding the ball with his dribble in the crucial final minutes of the fourth quarter, and CP3 who just coolly and calmly sank his shots which he did not previously take until critically necessary for his team. This happened too with Billups and other good pg's in the past. Brooks does not have the maturity and mental fortitude in crucial moments for the team.

Clarence Weatherspoon agrees. LOL, look at the rosters JVG had. If he would have had Morey as a GM it would have been a lot different.

You know what they say....defense wins championships.

I wonder if he would be willing to come back as an assistant coach, it would be nice to be able to play defense and score.

JVG had less talent to work with.

Man, you dudes need to relax. Adelman gave us respectable teams in the past; he'll do it again. It's just four games. I suggest some for you have sex.

JVG had a Superstar McGrady and a pretty health Yao....Adelman had old McGrady and broken down Yao.

Bring back JVG for an assistant with RA in the bench and let "The Dream" be our coach
