I truly believed that the Rockets would only lose ~30-35 games. They've already lost four of them.

Without adjustments, this team will be lucky to get above .500

GUYS no need to panic about being 0-4. We may even drop to 0-5. But we'll quickly get back to 5-5 or 4-5 very soon.

This team will win games and have a good record, especially as Yao continues to come around.

You honestly think that we can pull a 4 or 5 game winning streak with our current lineups?

So it's Adelman who's killing us, eh? I thought it was piss poor defense in our backcourt, and an iffy rotation at center.

did you look at the schedule?

Absolutely. There are two things at work here. One is the schedule.

The other is complete and utter desperation.

How I wish Rudy Gay wasn't traded for Battier ... oh, and Batum wasn't traded for Donte Green -> Ron -> Ariza -> Lee. DM has outsmarted himself.

Situations change, son. You don't judge a GM by hindsight and unpredictable outcomes. You judge him by the soundness of his judgment at the time of the transaction.

Now's the time for everyone to get chicken little out of their systems... hopefully this is rock bottom, as far as this season is concerned.

    Nowhere to go but up.

So, do people still think this team can be a contender without a legit closer/carry in close and pressure-filled games?

I still have NO DOUBT this team will make the playoffs and be a force to reckon with once it gets there.

As of right now, this team is soft. Rick's "read and react" systems translate to bad shots and weak defense.

Damn I just thought.... The Knick's draft pick is the right to swap correct? What if we are in the lottery and they make the playoffs in the weak bottom half of the East? Our pick will be before theirs! I was one of the main ones saying hold on to the pick for something better, but maybe we shoulda traded it.....

Uh, no, most of us knew the score, and so does Morey, but he can't forced other GMs to deal with him.

Though it sucks to be 0-4, we are not as bad as our record shows.

We are currently 13th in SRS.

This is an explanation of the Simple Rating System (SRS):

Basically we've had close games against pretty good teams. The level we are playing at now is not championship caliber, but it isn't in the bottom-dweller category either. I'm certain we'll be getting some W's a soon as the schedule eases up.

Before everybody gets their panties in a wad, let's give them team a while to sort it out. It's a big adjustment going from a Yao-less team to one that uses him for half the time. The defense is the area I am most concerned about.

don't make judgments until we have played at least 20 games.

If we aren't above .500 by then....then it's time to start complaining.

    We'll be 8-12 with this team as-is. I hope I'm wrong.
