.....that is all you can do at this point. Through 5 games, FG% - 0.541 3pt% - 0.526 Reb - 7.0 Stl - 2.0 Pts - 26.4
His stats are looking great.....small sample size, but I think he might b due for a big year, he has all the tools.
If this is about Rudy Gay, I have some canned responses prepared for such a stale thread. Maybe we can all move on to fresher things, though.
So you are comparing this year's 5 games to the past 250 games? I'm sure Rockets are crying right now.
Oh please, we all knew that Gay would eventually be better, but when we got Battier we hoped that Yao and Tmac would lead the team to a championship by now. Glass feet and glass ego screwed the pooch. DD

She's so fresh...
Trading for Battier = Win Now Mode. Are you too stupid to see that we had a small window? Giving up Gay made sense for 4 seasons, and looks terrible today. Oh wait, Rudy's contract looks even worse.
This is a proposal to those who would care to pause and think. How about if we had a ceasefire and stop the over the top ranting until we get to the first fifteen games. No, this is not a call for kumbaya, but how about if we put ourselves in the Rockets' coaches and players' shoes and think how we can start winning. Of course, if we do this we would assume that no one is going to be traded but, instead, it would be a collective constructive effort to suggest and find ways to win. Just a suggestion so that the panic buying for aspirin and tylenol would stop, and that we would have these headache remedies available on the shelves when we really need them.
A couple of things: 1) Yes, I know that the Rockets had no intention of drafting Gay even if they decided to hold onto the pick, but this shows how truly inept their scouting and FO was to feel that Thabo Selofsha (or whatever his name is) was the better player than Gay 2) Getting Battier for Gay wasn't the worst part - the worst part was that the Rockets did not get ENOUGH back in that deal. That is the part that stings the most. 3) It will GO down as one of the worst trades in NBA history and the only reason why it hasn't been declared the worst trade ever is because the Grizzlies haven't done ****. As Rocket fans, we better hope and pray that the Grizzlies never win a championship with Gay before us.
Agree on your first point but remember we also got rid of Swift's horrible contract along with getting Battier for a then unproven talent. Worst trades in NBA history..REALLY??? The guy hasn't even helped his team to more then 40 wins while Battier has been part of playoff teams. Gay could go on to win a title and all but who knows, to much uncertainty with Gay.
Well, worst is probably a little over-dramatic but at the same time, as each season goes by and the Rockets either don't make the playoffs or lose in the first round or even flame out in the 2nd, that window of opportunity is getting smaller and smaller. Hell, there are already people wanting Battier to be retired and taken to the glue factory. The redeeming grace for us Rocket fans has been that the Grizzlies have been just as inept and clueless, probably more, than the Rockets have been. It probably won't stay like that forever, though.
It's incredible how people on here seem to refuse to let things go.....this trade, T-mac....etc..... It's done, what's the point of belaboring the topic to death?
GRENDAL, As always you make salient points that can't be disagreed with. Can't speak for others but for me, it is just the incredulousness that I feel every time I think of this trade. The only other time I feel that incredulous is when I hear that Keanu Reeves got yet another leading plum role in a movie.
I understand but at some point we have to just move on and get over it, unless there was an option were we could get a do over, it just......
