after the next five games, we will be 5-4 or 4-5...only san antonio has a chance against us...minnesota we will beat by like 40 like miami and orlando, washington totally sucks, new york plays defense like us, and indiana is horrible...we will have a winning record in ten days!!!
Kevin Love 30 / 20 vs our defense John Wall vs Brooks. 25 / 12 / 10 / 11 Amare goes nuts on Yao Pacers always give us a hard time. TJ Ford breaks out in this game, Dunleavy goes off for 20 against his best friend Battier. All these games are tough.
Indiana pretty much always beats us. San Antonio...decent chance against us? The same Spurs who have been comeback kings over the years? The Same Spurs that always hit big shots? Minnesota is a bad team, that should be a definite win. Washington has actually won a game. If you saw the Philly game you'd know that John Wall is the truth. He's better than anyone in our backcourt and he's only played 3 games. New York is about at our level, it's a toss up game. Time to stop thinking at this point we are just better than everyone else.
Agree, though not sure I want to see John Wall go up against our perimeter defense. Rockets will get this turned around but they have bigger problems than I think some assumed. Defense was my big concern, but now at 0-4 and the wagon without wheels, I'd buy low on this team. They'll get it figured out or they will make the changes necessary. I'd really like to see something that you can count on with this team. If it's going to fall or crumble, at least let it be while making progress towards some goal. I thought that goal was to establish Yao Ming as the centerpiece once again.
I don't get it. Our defense is worse than last year when we didn't have Yao. I am beginning to suspect it's the Brooks-Martin tandem.
Our end of quarter shots need to start falling, regardless of who is shooting them. I think our guys are just sluggish to start the season, and need to get their conditioning and mind in better shape. As they play, they will remember how to focus in game, just like they did last year. As they execute this, their end of quarter plays will be run more crisply, shots will start to fall. This team just needs those 3-4 gritty wins in quick succession and then they'll carry the momentum forward... there's no doubt about it due to the players' blue collar mentality. Once AB starts to feel at home again and remembers how cold-blooded he was last year, it'll diffuse to the rest of the guys and we will be the super-power everyone is expecting. I think this 0-4 start will re-ignite the underdog attitude from last year. We just need time. I trust Coach Adelman to say the right things to spark this.
Hopefully they will give him room to shoot, his jumper is broke. As for Yao being the center piece please tell that to AB and Martin. The first unit needs to play inside out and the 2nd unit need to get up and down the floor. But foul trouble has mixed and matched our units.
Yao does not fit Adalmen's offence. One of them must leave. As a Yao fan, I hope they keep Yao. As a Rockets fan, no doubt Adalmen is the better option.
I don't know whether it's the players, the coaches, or the gameplan, but the problem is definitely defense and it is fixable. What was sad about tonight was that I actually saw Aaron Brooks defending as hard as I've ever seen him do against Chris Paul tonight, and it didn't matter. Someone was always in the wrong place, the ball always bounced the wrong way, they did a terrible job boxing out and rebounding and they couldn't get a single stop. I don't think it's a personnel problem -- I think anyone who was a fan during the JVG years knows that you can teach anybody to play good defense, regardless of their physical limitations. It is rather disheartening though that they had four days to work on this and still showed no improvement. It's like the schemes are fundamentally broken. That does not give me hope that it will get better anytime soon. I agree though -- they will get their heads above water soon enough. But they're not going to compete in the West if they don't find a way to start shutting people down.
After this crapfest it's pretty bold for anyone to think any team we play against is an 'automatic' win. With our terrible defense any team can score 110 on us on any given night.
After what I've seen after four games they are going to struggle and barely win games even against the bad teams in the nba. The rockets are just flat out hard to watch this year and serious changes need to be made. I think we all over estimated this team. We all know there's no D, and no closer, and that's not going to change. We won't beat Minnesota, Kevin Love will go for 40, Blatche from Wizards will prob do the same and I don't know how about Gallinari get's his career high.
John Wall and Andray Blatche vs. AB's perimeter defense and Luis Scola's lack of ability to stay with his man has absolute disaster written all over it.
Exactly, the stars always play great but then there's always one ordinary player or scrub who murders the Rockets.
Did you check out Scola getting shreeddddded by West and Jason Smith tonight? Whenever they took a jumpshot, he wasn't around. Some of it was Hill's fault on rotations as well. There was poor rotating and communicating between the two.
I never imagine this team would lose it's character and desire to win until tonight. It almost like they're being down so hard after losing the previous 3 games. And this team has high character so that's why i can't believe i didn't see some leadership and encouragement out there. Everyone sort of do their things and not talking or motivating one another. There is no communication or encouragement out there at all.
Don't think so. This year something is different and there just isn't heart. Teams aren't outplaying the Rockets, they're doing it to themselves. I can't see this getting any better a trade needs to happen soon.
