There where only 4 players in current NBA, who averaged 20pts+10rebs per career. Shaq, Duncan, KG and... Elton Brand. He struggled with injuries, every Sixers coach failed with opportunities to integrate him into their system but 10|11 season started with that:
He can still work it, kind of like D. Coleman could towards the end of his career but Brand is significantly slower laterally and plays below the rim now. He looks like he did at Duke. Not the explosive all around presence he was in LAC. The stats may be there but they are misleading.
Brand was one of the most consistent big men in the league for many years when he was with the Clippers. And he was never the "jump out of the gym" type who relies heavily on physical abilities. It was a mystery why he dropped off so much after he went to Philly. He was supposed to be fully healthy.
I've been tracking him this season for possible trade. He may not be what he was, but he's still blocking shots, and he is scoring efficiently on a junk team. Look at the blocks, assists, and steals. He's balling.
