Honestly, Villanueva is a little girl. Instead of handling this like a man and facing KG in person, he cries out to the media using Twitter.
Doc just backed up Garnett. He said he heard what Garnett said, and that Garnett's version of the statement was accurate. Garnett did not call Villanueva a cancer patient.
I understand there is trashing talking in BB but this crosses the line. Hopefully its not true, if not kg is a ahole.
#kgtrashtalk on twitter literally has my sides hurting trying to hold in my laughs at work. Hilarious. lol
Maybe but at the same time this incident "forces" people like David Stern to finally do something about Garnett's mouth and attitude. He could stand to be knocked down a couple of rungs on his ladder.
"why is he going to the nba now? his test scores were not high enough did not want to go the junior college route." quote from draft day 1995
only garnett and villanueva know the truth, there's no other proof so of course Doc will back up HIS player..
Well if Doc Rivers was within earshot of the 'confrontation', that would qualify as other 'proof'. And CV is a woman; so are those who overreacted to KG's alleged quote.
Lol hold on, I was under the impression that Charlie really is a cancer patient. He's not right? Because it's not that messed up if he is not a cancer patient. Thats like saying someone looks mentally challenged.
What can Stern do about KG's mouth? He talks trash but he's not the first person to talk trash in the NBA.
Smart in my opinion... he can't do anything on the court or risks getting a big suspension, hes not going to go into the locker room surrounded by the opposition and saying anything to a douchebag like KG who doesn't strike me as the kind to say sorry especially in front of people he can show off in front of. He also added that he would love to get in the ring with KG... so there's a little invite KG can take up sometime, perhaps make some money for Cancer victims in the off season? CV even if he can't fight is smart because he knows a gutless coward like KG would be too scared to do anything to a guy his size... a 6'1 point guard maybe. The Vanilla Ice of big men video sums him up perfectly... massively funny when McDyess goes after him. Trash talk is fine to an extent but even getting really personal is low... especially when you know cameras, referees etc. have got your back should anything happen. If someone got personal in lower leagues, streetball or other sports not at a professional level like KG did then they would find themselves lying on the ground most of the time.
That was funny. Thanks for posting. "KG's statement" was clearly written by his PR firm. The damage is done, he's got all these journalists ripping him up--it's what he gets if he did call CV a cancer patient. Just let the court of public opinion smack him around a little. Although I do think it's possible that he said to CV: "You're a cancer" instead of "You are cancerous to your team, the league, and Western civilization." Stern shouldn't get involved. I'm already annoyed that the league is getting softer by the year in its policy to police behavior. I miss the gritty basketball of the 90s.
KG is the sort of player that tries every little thing to help his team win, especially now that he's up there in age and is no longer able to physically dominate his opponents. can i believe he would call CV a cancer patient to get into his head? i definitely can believe that. did he mean to demean the struggles of cancer patients? definitely not. do i think hes done this sort of thing many times to different players? most probably. my guess is doc had a talk with him, explained how his action was inappropriate (not unlike a father explaining to his child), told him i know u meant something else n deep down ur a good guy, n told him he'll cover for the guy, but it stops there n no more after. again, my guess.
I'm amazed at all the faux outrage posted. Does anyone truely believe that, in a middle of a game, Garnett would randomly insult people afflicted with cancer or try to get under the skin of CV? Context is your friend. If trash talking is truely that repulsive to some, perhaps pro sports isn't for them. What it seems more like is CV lost to a better player and KG got under his skin. He then decides to "e-thug" it up in twitter. Really? Twitter?!? Where were CV's morals and virtues of real life during a game? These are 2 grown men playing a professional sport and words will be used to get the better of the other, and in this case it did. CV and the Bulls were beaten and CV is just looking for an outlet. Weak, real weak.
