Your Brooks hatred is tiring. Seriously between here and Spurstalk its a broken record. I will go on record as saying that I would like to see him traded in a package for a legit star, but he is clearly the second option on this team right now and the first option in the closing minutes of the game.

I say Scola will have better numbers but also consider it certainly looks like Wade/James will control the scoring so Bosh's numbers will take a BIG dip.

Not his fault at all. He was battling it out with just about the rest of the Warriors, but where was Brooks?

    This is a loaded question.

I think Scola and Bosh will put up similar stats this year.

But Scola will get his numbers on a poor defensive team that will play at a higher pace, and while Yao is only playing limited (or, like tonight, no) minutes.

Bosh will obviously take a hit to his numbers, since he is quite obviously the third option on his team, and the top two options are two of the three best offensive players in the game.

Bosh is a better defender than Scola, though.

Let's put it this way: If you put both players in both situations, I think Bosh would out-perform Scola.

But that doesn't mean I don't love Scola. Dude is one of my favorite players.

Would you do a straight swap of Scola for Bosh, assuming it could work under SC Rules?

If they made the same salary, you bet. Even though Bosh has shown himself to be kind of a douche.

But Scola (at his current salary) is a better value than Bosh (at his current salary). So, I'm not so sure that I'd do a 1-for-1 swap (if I were Les Alexander) unless I could also throw in additional salary, like Jeffries or Battier.

Hah, that is exactly what I said, you get nearly the same production at about half the price.

But, folks were so enamored with the numbers Bosh put up in Toronto, and the BS marketing ploy by Morey (Toyoto road trip..lol)and the Rockets that they were blinded to the truth.

If Scola was in Toronto last year, he would have put up the same number as Bosh, and probably would have been more efficient at doing it.

BTW- Clutchfans......Scola would be BETTER than Bosh in Miami too.....he can play off the ball and still be effective........so put that in your collective pipes and smoke it.

    ;)

The question will be will Bosh be able to do what Larry Johnson did when he got traded to the Knicks. Go from the scoring go-to guy to the guy doing the dirty work, and playing of other better scorers.

Because of the roles both players have in the team I wouldn't be surprised if Scola will have better stats.

Disagree on your last point. I think Bosh is a better fit in Miami than Scola would be. Bosh is a better defender, is longer and can challenge more shots than Scola can. With Lebron and Wade, either guy will get good looks and/or only be single-teamed. But Scola would end up getting pulled more frequently in favor of Udonis Haslem for defensive purposes than Bosh will. Plus, Bosh can play center.

Scola will outperform Bosh on the stat sheet this season. Bosh won't get the same number of shots he did in Toronto.

    Fair poll.

I'll say that Scola will do better stats-wise, and may end up on the all-star team due to his good play and the Yao effect.

Voting for Scola to have the better statistical season, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's the better player.

I'll side with DaDa, but for different reasons. I think you're right that Bosh has more versatility. But, as an intangibles guy, and from a heart-of-a-champion angle, I'd take Scola. Bosh seems like the talent without the resolve.

    This season . . . I suspect Bosh will denegrate to . . . Lamar Odom
He will show up . . and demonstrate flashes
    but
over all a bit of a disappointment

I think They are the same player almost. Bosh is basically what Scola would be if he had to be on the Raptors. I am glad we didnt overpay to get him. He will work out with the Heat because Lebron and Wade will make him look good. Lets face it. You put in Scola with Wade and Lebron thats a good team too. Bosh is overrated.
