I'd say he did a great job improving the team, but he took them as far as he could by last season and the team got to the point where they were better than he was. I appreciate what he's done, but we are making the playoffs under his guidance. It's time for a hard nosed coach to take the reins and get the kiddies to play like big boys. Sadly, it won't happen, since McNair has only a half-hearted interest in pushing the team to be the best. Pretty good is all he needs.
I said last year that team should have beem 11-5 maybe even 12-4 Everyone told me I was being overly optimistic THIS TEAM HAS TALENT!!!!! I would venture to say . . .more often than not this year The texans were the MORE TALENTED TEAM on the field including last nite Call me crazy but . . . If JAcoby Jones were on the colts I think we'd be thinking .. d*MN THAT GUY IS GOOD!!! Either their coach or Peyton would have LIT HIS *SS UP FOR DROPPING BALLS BY NOW AND HE WOULD FRICKING STOP DOING IT!!! Look at the Colts receiving core. . they make mistakes they not overly talent but . .they don't make the same mistakes over and over Rocket River

If a team had a strong run defense and a weak pass defense, I don't think Kubes would have a problem being unbalanced in favor of the pass. But he doesn't seem to be willing to go the other way too often.
When I say it was a fluke, I'm directing it at the people last year who were happy to have a winning record and saying you can't fire a coach for going 9-7 and leading the team to the best record in franchise history. This team under Kubiak has a habit of only turning it on once the pressure is off. - In 2009, we were 5-7 and basically eliminated -- then turned it on to win the last 4. 9-7 - In 2008, we were 4-6 and basically eliminated -- then turned it on to win 4 out of the last 6. 8-8 - In 2007, we started 2-0, then once people started talking about playoffs, we promptly went on to lose 4 of the next 5 . Of course, once we were basically eliminated, we finished the season on a 3-1 tear. 8-8 What else do you expect from a coach who is too afraid to watch FG's? What kind of mentality does that instill in the team?
I posted a recap in the Texans@Colts game thread. ...in case anyone missed it and wanted to hear what steaming dog-crap sounds like over radio waves.
I just don't get it. The Colts have a speedy defense that's good against the pass, an awesome pass rush and terrible against the run. You have one of the best running backs in the league. You DOMINATED them before with the run. In this game, every time you ran the ball, you gashed them as well. So why did he refuse to run the ball? What is all this garbage about being a "balanced" team? Stubborn dogmatic teams don't win. Teams that win do so by playing to their strengths. The result is not matters, not the philosophy. Why doesn't Kubiak get it? The Kansas City chiefs know they're not a good passing team. They know they're a great running team, and they'll run the ball on 3rd and 8 shamelessly and win games. The Titans know they don't have a good quarterback, so they'll run the ball all day and make it easy for VY to throw every now and then. Why doesn't Kubiak get it? What was particularly maddening about last night was that the defense actually played well enough that the Texans could have won if only they controlled the ball on offense and ran it. How do you expect to defeat Peyton Manning at home when he has the ball in his hands 2/3rds of the time?
I wanted him gone last season. He is borderline incompetent at head coaching. He is not head coaching material. I honestly believe that with a decent coach we would have made the Playoffs last year.
Let me tell you something. Kubiak should go back to being the Broncos Offensive Coordinator. I want Bil Cowher or Jon Gruden next year. There is no way in HELL they could do a worse job. They both get thier players motivated.
I meant to post this in this thread Lately, I've been thinking about Mike Singletary. Looks like he could be fired by the 49ers at the end of the year. The guy has the attitude I want in the locker room. He seems like he doesn't know how to coach an offense, so maybe just a D Coordinator. But maybe head coach if they can find a high quality offense coordinator on the market. It would be amazing if they could bring in Jon Gruden as the head coach and Mike Singletary as the D Coordinator, I think a combo of those two could be pretty amazing. I would invest money there in the off season.
I second Rhino17...Mike would be a good fiery type with energy...I'm starting to really dislike Kubiak...He isn't handling this team well. I was never "on" Kubiak like this, but now it is obvious he is lacking...

Absolutely, like I said, not head coach (that should be Gruden). Like him or not, the guy brings an intensity to the locker room. You can't blame him for his team having no quarterback. I love his intensity and would be great in the locker room. Someone that may actually challenge his players and not cater to guys like Amobi or Jackson who suck on the field.
