Just a public service announcement that under the recent health care bill anyone under 26 yrs who has no health insurance can be insured under their parent(s)' policy till they reach 26. Have your parents contact their employer/insurer. Effective Sept. 2010.

All right, all right, all right.

That's what I love about this Obama president, man. I get older, the insurance stays the same age.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Xerobull again.

Based on my understanding of the new requirement it only applies when the health plan renews on or after September 23, 2010. If a group plan renews before September 23, 2010, then they are not obligated to allow dependents up to age 26 to be covered. They will be required to extend coverage upon next year's renewal.

Rocket Guy - It sounds like your parent's plan is on a January 1 renewal date and therefore you will have to wait until January 1 before you will be covered again under their plan.

During my old plan, I had to be a full-time student to get coverage. Good thing this kicked in, because I'm only part-time from here on out.

I agree!!! Damn that Marxist for wanting people to be insured! Better a 20 something carry no coverage and then need his appendix removed and stick the hospital with the bill, ruining his credit, raising costs on the rest of us and ultimately paid for by the tax payer through the disproportionate share system.

Yes it would be so wrong for a 20 something year old to have to get their own insurance and grow up- better to force corporations and insurance companies to foot the bill.

Unemployment rate is worse for their age group, they make less money due to their lack of experience and are the largest age group to be uninsured. The cost of the uninsured is the number one reason why the cost of healthcare continues to rise astronomically. I suppose you think this system is great even though the WHO disagrees with you.

The WHO is the World Health Organization by the ignorance of your post you most likely assumed I meant the band. :)

I meant those who are not in school, if you were a full time student you could previously be on your parents policy until the age of 24, that is what 6 years to get through college?

I am not sure why but I strongly believe that this will lead to our nation's ruin.
