Ignoring ? Who's ignoring Battier? There's a long ass thread that started the second day of the season...there's also a ton of threads listing other problems that have plagued the team during those 3 games. Feel free to stop by more often.

doesnt hide the fact that Battier is averaging like 3 pts a game....

Meanwhile Gay is averaging 22pts and 8 rebs.. arghh dont think i'll ever get over that trade

The only defender is the only defender. He is sub par defensively and offensively but the only defender.

Hey thats what counts. Defense. Not wins. Just defense.

At points we had some bad rotations, but overall I really don't think we lost this game, GS won it. They were shooting lights out the entire night, we can't do anything about that.

Well. Its cool to see how We do the next game. See if Battier can get some stops. He actually had a good game geeting to the ball alot causing posiive plays even thought the stats dont show it. If he does the same thing in the next game and it results in a win? Good for him and us.

Even his intangibles have become intangible. However, in a few more seasons I predict a defensive resurgence as Battier will have become so intangible he will have mastered the ability to become invisible at will.

Look, you can overlook his pathetic offense, if he is shutting folks down, but this year, he is struggling to do that, just like the rest of the team.

Battier is part of the problem.

I think we have to rape Memphis back in a trade to truly get over the trade. Maybe we could somehow steal Gasol from them. Marc Gasol as Yao's backup would be absolutely sick.

The problem is obvious, not enough players who can get it done on both sides of the court.

It's not battier faul, we have no passers on the team, and we have only a single above average defender (Battier).
Most of the members pointed this out during the offseason, many of us hoped that either Martin or Brooks would be traded for a better overall player at their positions yet that didn't happen.
Now is time to have faith that we were wrong and Morey was right.
Odds surely are on his side.

So how does reflecting on a move done so long ago affect the fact that he is currently on our roster? I understand the connection between the two players but we are not going to get anywhere looking back at that.

Where are you going with this?

    That was pretty good. lol.

Look, any guy (or gal) would be crazy not to want to have a beer and a few laughs with a bright guy like Battier. That is not the point, but it seems Battier's good nature and personality gives him a free out-of-jail card. Put it another way, had Battier had Ariza's d******d attitude, 99% of the folks posting here would ask for his head.

Battier is no longer starter material, but I think he could be very useful as a backup. I would start Lee with Brooks, then let Battier come off the bench with C-Bud. Lee gives the starting lineup some offensive punch with his shooting and driving abilities while preserving the defensive intensity that is needed because of Martin.

We had Ariza but we rather settle on Battier.

    Mediocrity, we love.

This sort of statement has never made any sense to me.

He is good enough to play, but doesn't deserve a music intro?

I would still start him, but I think Chase should get at least half of the minutes at SF now.

You almost have to start the guy, he doesn't fit with the 2nd unit at all.
