With Yao on the floor that would even be a more foolish choice. And since come december Yao will be up to at least 28 minutes a game and we only play the Lakers 2 more times, neither of those off of a b2b, it is safe to say Artest would be stupid to back down Martin with Yao drifting behind. of course we all know Artest can be stupid at times. The bottom line is with or without Yao we will rarely allow any player to consistently back down Martin one on one. Or to back down any player whether it's brooks, Budinger or even Battier. Battier can't guard Kobe or Lebron one on one. The fact is we have to help to keep those guys from scoring. And if you watch martin you will see he is a pesky defender. He is quicker than most of the guys not named Monta Ellis that he guards. He is better than many suggest on defense. Watch Martin's closely tonight. ANd then come back and give your thoughts.
If you don't mind my asking, at what position do you see Lee in the starting lineup? SG ahead of Martin? Out of position at SF? Not flaming, just asking for clarification.
I think we should muzzle Brooks shot a little more. Let Martin get a bulk of the shots while covering the best player. Martin coud get the other guy in foul trouble this way or wear him out.
I watched the game on DVR when I got home from work at 830 am the morning following the game. I fast forwarded through bits and pieces. That was what I based my comment on. I actually re-watched the game in without fast forwarding at after your comment above paying extra attention to KM. I admit that you are right. Kevin Martin can guard a fly stuck in molasas.
