When you play Miller/Scola/Martin/AB together, lack of defense is a given no matter who the 5th player is.

Don't forget these very Rockets from 07-08 and 08-09. Even last year, we weren't too bad.

Yup... our perimeter defense was definitely better at the time because of better defensive personnel. But i think this is where Lowry comes in as well.. our 2nd unit off the bench is pretty good defensively with Lowry, Lee, Bud, Hayes and Miller (Miller and Bud being the weaker defensive players).

Its still early in the season, so i'm sure RA is playing with his rotations to see what works best defensively and offensively.

Yup.. and Yao and Deke were both part of those teams manning the paint. A younger Shane definitely helped too.

I dont think that Rafer and T-Mac/Ron Ron were our defensive saviors those years. Definitely made them better defensively, but not by leaps and bounds.

That's funny. I meant to include them but I totally had a brain fart. Didn't even notice.

07-08 Rockets: 2nd in Defensive Rating
08-09 Rockets: 4th in Defensive Rating

However, they did take a dive to 17th last year. Can't agree with your point there.

This is being charitable to the officials. The series was fixed as Donaghy admitted and they most likely would have won the championship. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4rAT3roUSk

I don't think AB will play physical until he gets his next contract. He will make more than Scola.

The refs beat the Kings, not the Lakers.

I never use that excuse but it is completely obvious.

That game seven against the Lakers was so horribly officiated that Ralph Nader complained, and when Donaghy got caught he claimed that the fix was in for that specific game.

It's mostly memorable for Mike Bibby fouling Kobe's elbow with his face. The Lakers should have an asterisk next to their championship for that year.

That's why you need those superstar players, it was obvious Stern wanted kobe and shaq in the finals for ratings.

I never really like Adelman because he doesn't know much about defense.

you know what.? I would love our rockets to be the same as those kings back then, they were contenders every year.

anyway, it's true that defense from our PGs against warriors is horrible.
