yeah, but still, if you WERE indeed getting some right now, you probably wouldn't be as frustrated with the Rockets; hence why it seems NBA players just don't seem as frustrated as fans sometimes. That's why DaDakota seems so frustrated in his posts all the time.
Lies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Morey told us we would be playing for the WC Champs. Now we can accept 6th place in WC ranking.
Though I know our defense couldn't be worse, I don't quite agree with Morey that our offense isn't a problem. Our high scores in the past two games are a bit deceiving. If we didn't hit those 3 pts in the first half in LA or didn't get the crazy number of FTs in Golden State, the score board could look quite differently. IMO, we need to move the ball more quickly and share it more with the whole team. Bench players, Chase especially, should take more shots.
You seem pretty calm. Are you getting some right now? And if so is someone in the room with you? Okay don't answer that.
The good news is that with that kind of over-reaction, when we win a game you'll be 100% positive that we're going to the finals.
Well, there's your answer for what the difference is between Maggette and Kevin Martin. For anyone still wondering if they were the same player.
The wild emotional swings game to game is going to be nauseating. People need to chill out and defer the profound proclamations until at least December.
This team will be ok. Adelman is not a problem for two losses. If you think he is, then tell me who is a better on on the market? Lowry could make a difference on defense, we will see when he comes back.
How can you say if we didn't hit those free throws. I only so one foul against Martin that was a borderline call and that was when he ran into Biedrins. It could have been called a charge but at best it was borderline call. The rest Martin earned those fouls. That is how he plays. He is going to foul line if you keep him involved in the game. As for the other players, they (the refs) definitely missed a couple of calls so we should have had even more free throws. SO to say it was because the crazy free throws is dumb. If you add Lowry we would have even more. As for the threes Martin and Brooks will not enthe season shooting 60 percent but are three point shooting is going to be a weapon. I could see Budinger martin, Brooks and maybe even Battier averaging above 40% for the season. and if you add the fact that Scola played terrible offensively the first game, Yao was out of rhythm and lee made a couple of boneheaded plays which I am sure he will learn from and it is easy to see scoring for this team will not be a problem as you suggest. Our offense will actually get better and the key is will our defense get better? That is the big question. Personally I think it will just with Lowry coming back and Lee improving as he learns the schemes. I am actually happy with Martins D. He is not a major liability out there on D. He made a couple of great plays on D and you can see him hustling out there. But we can't just have a group of players that are not liabilities. Especially when Scola is a bit of a libility as is Budinger and Brooks along with Miller. And even Hayes against Bigger bigs is a liability. Right now IMO Jeffries is our best defensive backup center at times and that is kind of sad. We need Lee to step up even more. We need Lowry to come in with his intensity and we need Patterson to become a much better defender. Yeah I know that is a unexpected suggestion. But if Patterson can take the role of Carl landry last year we will be an improved team. We were better at the 4 with Landry and Scola than we are with hayes and Scola now. Patterson showed me glimpses of talent this preseason. If he beats out Hayes that will mean he has improved and become consistent over the course of the season and that will be a major positive for this team.
I think the issue with defense will be greatly alleviated when Yao is in the lineup. Especially down the line(playoffs) when he can play a bigger role. We know that the current group without Yao is below average defensively, not just from the last game, but a greater sample size last year. So the fact that GS scored like they were the only team out there playing last night, on their home opener, on a back to back for us, without Yao, shouldn't have surprised anyone. In the Lakers game, with a limited Yao, in limited minutes, we actually looked very good defensively. Minus a few egregious slips from Scola. With Yao more of a feature, it is not a stretch to think we can approach a top 10 defense by seasons end. And it looks like a top 10 offense is clearly within reach. So I am still anticipating an above average regular season, somewhere around 50-55 wins. Becoming a top 5 offense/defense and truly contending for a title? That's still beyond reach without further upgrade. IMO.
The Rockets are probably shooting for top 5 offense, top 10 defense. Their offense is WAY ahead of the defense, at this point.
