Yea I want those two hours back I felt trapped. . . this was probably the most predictable ass-horrible movie i have seen in some time.. . . I was getting so fricking irritated . .it was the ANTI-Ransom. [Ransom is a great movie as far as kidnap movies go] Also . . WILL SOMEONE TELL PEOPLE THAT COURTNEY LOVE IS JUST SLEEZY LOOKING . . .NOT SEXY and SHE CANNOT ACT!!! Rocket River
So you're saying you didn't go see Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever this weekend? Good choice. I saw Igby Goes Down and One Hour Photo. Both were pretty good movies. Kieran Culkan actually gave a great performance in Igby Goes Down. It's a pretty dark comedy along the lines of the Royal Tenenbuams. One Hour Photo was just plain creepy.
Well, Barbershop was the #1 movie again this weekend, so apparently everybody is staying away from the stale summer rejects. Ballistic grossed only $7 million and Trapped grossed only $3 million. I've never been a big fan of old TV show remakes (except for Mission: Impossible and Charlie's Angels), but I'm looking forward to seeing I Spy. I'll be checking out Sweet Home Alabama this weekend...
BARBER SHOP is a great movie, no matter who you are. There is one scene where there is a very non predictable encounter between Ice Cube and a convenience store owner from Pakistan, it is very nice. I would love to see more 'genre' movies take a turn like this one has, entertaining but not foolish.
AB, I agree...Barbershop is a good movie for everyone. I wish Spike Lee would watch this movie and learn a thing or two. A-Train: I Spy looks pretty good. Murphy will need a hit after the Pluto Nash flop. I like Owen Wilson in most of the stuff he does. os
of course the flap about the 2 jokes. .. I have not seen it yet . .. Ballistic was BAD??? D*MN U ANTONIO the man makes the best fricking Trailers to some of the worse movies!!1 Rocket River
I know Charlize Theron's in TRAPPED, but when I saw the rating "R" and looked under that, it listed only Sexual Content and something else....but Sexual Content can be placed on PG-13 films, y'know? Now if it had said STRONG sexual content and Charlize Theron Buck-Nekked, I might've been the perv sitting near the back. By the way: Barbershop. Great flick. Apparently Jesse Jackson wasn't too thrilled by Cedric's character's comments about MLK, OJ, and Jesse himself. Too bad. 'Cause it's just a character in a movie, and the other characters refute the one, so no big deal. Well, Cedric's character did say, "F*** Jesse Jackson," so I guess maybe I would take it personally. 'Nother one of these:
Personally it made me a little uncomfortable but, in a weird way it gave necessary balance to the movie. It can't all make sense, I guess.
I saw Barbershop, Ecks vs. Sever, and City by the Sea over the weekend w/ friends.... I'll tell ya, the best out of the 3 was Ecks vs. Sever. Barbershop was ok, and City by the Sea was just tooooo damn long. It was like Arlington Road dragged out and it wouldn't get to the point.
