I totally agree. We did just play the defending champs. It gave me hope.

I noticed that too. Under JVG, he was some kind of rebound ninja. Now, it seems he can't be bothered.

Yao should have not played so long, it was noticeable that he was not up to speed on offence and then there is the issue of playing a guy who has not played for a while on crucial minutes during the 4th.
Yao ended up with a +/- of -6, he was the only starter with a negative figure on this one.
Brad Miller on the other hand finished up +4 and was kept out, both him and Scola, during the 4th quarter when the lakers went on a 22-7 run.
I don´t know why we put him back in when we were dominating the Lakers, we could have save his minutes in case he was needed in the end.
I hope Adelman´s finds a better way of playing Yao, because his precense on court as of now is disturbing, at least offensivelly.

Yea just had an argument with RMGEEGEE about Chuck Hayes. Yea, his defense when pau posted up was pretty good, but scoring, rebounding, and any other defense was just flat out bad. Should have had hill/jeffries in there

I thought we looked a little soft when our shots stopped falling in the second half. Also thought some of the new guys acted like we want to count on them more than we do when times got tough. It didn't help.

Aaron Brooks: B, no vision, no leadership during late game
Kevin Martin: B+, Kev Martin needs to prove that he a is superstar by taking over
Shane Battier: B, solid defense on Kobe, not his fault that Kobe doesn't ever have off shooting nights against us.
Luis Scola: B-, poor offensive performance. Solid rebounding effort.
Chuck Hayes: B, good defense but his offensive flash shown during preseason is all gone?
Yao Ming: B-, played really poorly, first game
Brad Miller: A-, great defense (as well as his physical ability allows), good FT shooting, 2 sick passes
Courtney Lee: B+, good game, played well defensively, nice steals and finishes. work on shot selection, stop trying to shoot long jumpers like Martin, TMac, and Kobe...
Chase Budinger: B, Bud, please work on defense
Ish Smith: C, first real NBA game, too nervous probably, has shown that he is a legit NBA talent in the preseason.
Rick Adelman: B+, overall good coaching, last play was iffy, but was partially Brooks' fault for not getting a shot off or finding the open Scola

Yeah right, Pau was definitely not a factor in this game. Hayes REALLY shut him down and Odom too. I barely noticed either one last night. Especially with all those rebounds Chuck got last night. Pau Gasol was the best player on the floor last night and Chuck shouldn't have been there at all. I can't believe how much of a pass he gets on this board. While some of our most productive guys constantly get killed.

Budinger is ultra quick and has way more strength than his other 6'7 peer KM. I think this guy can be something special right here and now. Let's make him into something in practice Rockets. Quick cuts for explosive dunks is what we need more of. Definitely can make up for the loss of Landry for the mean time.

Of course DD, if wou want it every single variable helps the Rockets and hurts the rival.

Hayes was paired with Pau just for 2 minutes (rest with Odom/Artest). One good 1on1 defense, maybe 2, and 0 rebounds in the rest of game. Of course no intimidation of any kind, as always, and you can't count with him offensively, so he's also hurting you indirectly here.

His contribution was very poor yesterday, don't know if he can help more in future games, but in any way should he be immovable in the rotation having on the bench 2 players like Jeffries (similar player, but at 6-11, more prepared for competing against Lakers size) and Hill.

You say we win yesterday with Lowry. Surely we do, but then you should add Bynum to the equation too. I say we win the game with Jeffries/Hill on the court instead Chuck. With no Lowry and no Bynum.

    AMEN BROTHER! WELL SAID.

Nothing personal I just don't think you let LOTTERY PICKS from the last two drafts sit and watch while you have a 6'3 power forward out there not rebounding, not scoring, not stopping the ball, not drawing fouls, not hitting shots, not hitting free throws, etc.. We have players with BETTER TALENT! at THE END OF THE DAY ITS ADELMAN'S ISSUE NOT CHUCK'S. But I'll drop it, it's a new day and another game.

You can criticize him but he's not a D-leaguer. He's a pretty valuable defensive backup PF.

Entertaining game, just hope Yao plays the last 6 mins of the game then Brad. The missed lay-ups and out of position D can be easily fixable!

colin is high on the rox "a lot of ppl are sleeping on houston"

nice 2 get some love frm the media, but didnt wanna start anothr "nobody loves us!" thread
