Blake and Brown make 7 of 9 three pointers, that was the difference. Those guys got red hot coming down the stretch and there wasn't much we could do. The Lakers and Rockets are both very good teams, but the Lakers got hot at the end.

Well, we could have guarded them.

Your posts are now ineffective, period. Popping up and hitting 3s w a good % from 3 feet behind is pretty ineffective.

I just thought we had too many lapses in intensity and focus in the 2nd half. The layups and defense, etc were just symptoms of that. I'm not sure if it was coaches mistakes, players too confident, or the Lakers just lulled us, but it's far from unfixable.

It sucks that we didn't get the W, but I think this showed that we are a dangerous team. As much as one game can show anyway.

Allowing the shoot around by Blake and Brown and turnovers are front and center for me.

Control the turnovers and the Roxs still win going away.

True, but look at it this way...

Sag off into the lane on a team that has Paul Gasol, Lamar, and Kobe on the roster. Or leave Shannon FREAKIN Brown (Career 33% 3pt shooter) open for long 3pt jumpers.

Leaving Blake open is inexcusable, but 9 times out of 10 Shannon Brown does not drain 4 3's and kill you like that.

I agree, they got hot and won the game, it wasn't Kobe, Fish, Gasol, it was Brown and Blake.

The Rockets were still right there, even after missing so many wide open layups.....and turning the ball over.

Luis, Yao and Martin with 4 turnovers each....

I think the Rockets gave it away, but the bright side is that the world champion Lakers needed a last gasp 3 by a role player to beat us, on a night in which we played pretty bad overall.

This is going to be a very good season.

Touche... Watching Shannon Brown go off like that made me realize how our opponents' fans must have felt when Rafer Alston would get hot from behind the arc.

Feels good for the home team... But EVERYONE knows that it shouldn't be happening. lol

Scola had 18pnts and 16 rebounds; clearly he missed some layups late in the game but we had 20 turnovers and our defense dissolved.

Glad to see all saw what I saw. I, like our hometown commentators, am trying to stay off the refs a bit when I see lopsided officiating. But to call Martin on the tech for his reaction after a foul was called on him and then to ingore all the stupid expressions and acting out on the Lakers' after they are called for fouls is inexcusable. That and all the missed over the back or loose ball fouls they missed on the Lakers.

Other points of agreement on why we lost:

-Scola was off, Lee needs to know his role, Hill has shown he deserves some time and could have helped more than Hayes against the Lakers size. Oh- and the Rox might want to guard Blake and Brown on the 3s and Scola guard others on the back door.

Other than the obvious above, Rox got their hands in the face of the shooters and Kobe and the gang still kncoked 'em down.

This. If we just do these two things last night we win easily.

    They only needed one.

Not go cold for a two minute stretch late in the 4th quarter.

Besides that I think the biggest thing I need to work on is taking care of the ball more. YOu can't expect to win games when you turn the ball over 21 times.

All of that said still an entertaining game and I give the Rox a lot of credit for still fighting at the end when given all of the emotion about the Lakers getting their rings and the Lakers fighting back to take the lead in the 4th this game could've been very very ugly.

Scola needs better hands... and Rick needs to tell Miller not to pass Scola the ball when Scola is running.

One more stop on defense (anytime in the game).

One more basket on offense (anytime in the game).

There's a reason why the Lakers are the champs. Let's not undersell their product. Bynum is still out, Kobe still isn't as good as he can be this season, Barnes and Blake are still learning the triangle.

That being said, we had them right there. Outside of Lowry getting healthy, there is only one thing that will change the outcome of games like this:

    1. Play more games.
