    I saw STEVE FRANCIS tonight!!!!

I saw STEVE FRANCIS tonight!!!! Oh wait that was A Brooks????

He did a great job of pounding to ball into oblivion against the Lakers (second half) and waiving off Yao on PnR's, I honestly tried to watch if he would even pass the ball to Yao when he had post position which I can't remember him doing once in the second half.

Sometimes you feed the post, to get fed an open look when the defense sags. AB has NO concpet of this.

I know the dude can score the rock and shoot the ball, but this is now season number four and he just does not make his team mates better. Very very few superstar PG's win titles as scorers (being the main man or second mate).

I don't even want to ask anyone where AB's mind was during that barrage of open three's. I caught him drifting to guard Lamar in the lane when Lamar already had a person in front of him on S Blakes dagger three.

And he should of taken the shot to the front of the rim at the end of the game. I have no idea why he took that extra dribble.

He looked pretty good playing within the parameters of the offense in the first half. The second half bullsh!t of dribbling the clock down, waiving off players for iso's has to stop.

In Rick's defense, it happened to JVG consistently too.

No Scola isnt the problem. We wouldnt even be in the game at the end had he not been playing. I think had we given more minutes to Martin and Courtney Lee together playing on Kobe we would have won. As usual Rick picked the perfect combo to allow a comback for the other team down by more than 14 points.

Turnovers and LA's offensive rebounding doomed us tonight. Lots of sloppy passes; hopefully those will get sharper as the season progresses. I was pretty down on Scola's offensive performance in the second half, but then he single-handedly got us back in the game in crunch time. Didn't even realize he had 16 rebounds... shame he couldn't get the ball to go in on his final shot.

Sucks to get beat by Shannon Brown and Steve Blake. Those two rose to the occasion in front of an emotional crowd. I'm sure Battier was trying to keep an eye on Kobe, but somebody's got to get a hand in Brown's face. The defensive rotations will have to improve late in games, but the defense wasn't too bad tonight. Turnovers were. Yao and Miller didn't do a great job at boxing out the Lakers, who are just so big inside. Brooks looked gassed in the second half. I think Kyle Lowry could have been the difference tonight, but we'll never know.

Oh well. One game down, another coming up. God, it just sucks to lose.

Shannon Brown and Steve blake beats us. If we didn't miss so many freaking layups we would of easily won that game. I'm pissed but not worried about our season

9 assists 2 turnovers and he could have had 20 assists if his teamates were hitting the shots.

I do not agree with your view sir.

Jeffries or Patterson could have but both aren't quick enough though.

We need to find a way to pry Anthony Randolph from the Knicks.

I'd trade Hill or Patterson for him straight up.

K-Mart had a good first half when he played the system. In the 2nd half he had way too many crappy possessions where he would dribble, dribble, dribble and then jack up a 3.

Given how they looked against San Antonio and Dallas last week I'd classify this as quite disappointing. In descending order:

    1) Scola... or lack thereof

    2) Last play of the game; poor call by who? Adelman? Or winging it by Brooks?

    3) Yao; a healed foot won't correct the lack of speed or the bumbling hands. He did stuff one shot. But overall... too much time. He had a couple of turnovers/missed shots at the rim that helped turn the momentum for LA. If his 24 minutes ends up hurting the team don't stick to it.

    4) Lee and others making unnecessary turnovers.

The positive: Given these disappointments, the team to still had a chance to tie or win on a last second play.

Either an LA fan taking a jab or a Rockets fan taking a jab. Same difference. It's a little early in the season to say "I told you so." ;)

I think Battier is done i see him being moved soon depends the player. I really think they'll hang on to him and Jeffries and let him expire and chase a FA like Landry who can atleast close out a fourth quater. They need a closer if Rockets had Landry tonight they would have won this game. If this don't happen i see Iggy coming to Houston to provide more transition offense and defense.

    A few thoughts:

    1) The Rockets have a ton of talent and there is a lot to look forward to this year, but our talent hasn't been tested and has to learn to perform better under pressure. The Rockets bench should never be outscored/outplayed, but they melted under pressure in the second half.

    2) Lowry was badly missed. Too many minutes for Brooks. He was clearly tired in the second half. What's more, when Martin got in foul trouble, it would have helped tremendously to have the option of Lowry/Brooks when the Lakers were making their run and when Lee/Budinger looked like deer staring into headlights.

    3) Way too many turnovers (especially on the road).

    4) Scola, Yao and Battier have to finish those easy layups and wide open jumpers. Those misses in the third killed us.

    5) Martin looked really good tonight, but he - like most of the Rockets - has to take better care of the ball (especially in crunch time).

give it up man...scoring was NOT our problem in the end....it was for about a quarter, but that was due to them getting away from the system and getting flustered by their height...i believe houston finished the game with like a 20 to 10 run.

Even with the loss, you get that feeling that this team is going to be ok. This is just one game, and hell we played our asses off. The turnovers need to come down and we got to stop letting teams get second chance opportunities.

With that being said, I really am confident in this team...

Lee needs to back up Kevin Martin, maybe Budinger should get more playing time, his defense is not that bad, plus he can score :)

Tough loss! But I don't expect the Rockets to beat the best team in the league on a road game. Once again Lakers' Big make the difference.

There are some posters here think we should beat the Lakers because kobe is not healthy and they are missing Bynum. Please, these Lakers are the one of the deepest team in the league and they ain't missing Bynum and enough of Kobe not being healthy!
