we should be brave and just try a 3 to steal the game...hate the option we chose

Adelman needs to be more creative with his rotations. We talk about all of this depth so use it.

What can Chuck Hayes really do against Odom? Odom isn't posting up, put in Jeffries or Hill.

Team has a lot of potential, they just have to close out games. They get the lead...then just let it dwindle away with bad shots and one on one offense.

Hey folks, that last play was drawn up by Adelman and it almost worked. Brooks just dribbled once too many times. That wasn't Battier or Brooks messing up. Learn a little basketball.

    My thoughts...
    +s:
    1. We were just unlucky. Shannon brown isn't gonna light it up like that ever again.
    2. Yao anchors our defense. It was amazing while Yao was around-holding the Lakers to around 40% shooting.
    3. Martin's defense was ok. It wasn't terrific, but it was fine.
    4. Martin's shooting looks a lot better.

    -s:
    1. Scola seemed tired.
    2. Brooks still hasn't figured out to not try to penetrate near the end.
    3. Yao is still limited to 24 minutes.
    4. We need to be more disciplined on the turnovers.

Overall, it was well-played, and I'm sure we'll be fine.

we need a scorer who we can give the ball to and ride him when we go on droughts.

until then, we'll get teased of the potential greatness of this team. we have the foundation set w/ the role players.

6 rebs, 4 assts, and 2 blks.. Kobe took 20 shots to get 27.....i dont see a big problem with his stat line or play tonight, except for 2-3 wild shots he threw up that he should have had better control over, but he often gets those last second passes with the clock running down..we had more significant issues than that tonight.

Technical on Martin was BS and Kobe on the line during a loose ball is BS nobody had possesion of it should have been a jump ball.

I don't care how good you play, if you commit 20+ turnovers, you're not winning.

If that is our "win the game late" play then we will be feeling like this quite often this season.

Really.......a Brooks cut is the best we had?

Having no real closer can do that to you....blowing big leads as well.

There is one stretch when Adelman use Hayes and Battier on the court at the same time...that was a mistake imo...that's when the Lakers surge...WE NEED some kind of offense inside...we need Scola to post up to generate offense. That was a bad lineup. Hayes playing Center and Battier PF?? C'mon...that's bad!

feel crappy Rox lost, but happy that Rockets can improve from this. Winning against Lakers this early in LA, could have led to fool's gold.

I mean Adelman could have just kept on putting fresh players once the Lakers started to get energy in their comeback and rebonds. He could have thrown in Jeffries for few plays and then Hill. Then back to his starters. He could have had Yao, Scola, Jeffries, Martin and Brooks to counter the Lakers size. He throws without ever a doubt the exact lineup he needs to for the exact amount of time in every comeback to lose a doubledigit lead on a nightly basis. Then changes it up after the other team gets the lead.

I think we talked about this in another thread, the Rockets lost over 10 games when leading by 10 points or more last year.

Same thing tonight, we need to find a way to close teams out. Martin, Brooks, Scola all played great tonight.

Our D down the stretch was suspect, especially all the 3's Lakers were able to hit.

Turnovers killed us, we have to cut that down, and REBOUNDING!

I feel confident still, our team looked good out there, we can still improve, but I really think this will be a team fighting for a top 3 seed in the West
