Planning on taking a trip the first week of December. The Rockets play Chicago on the 4th.

Both cities will be cold. Ticket prices are cheap for both if I book by tomorrow.

Which city would you recommend for that time frame?

    Thanks.

I've never been to Chicago unfortunately, but I've been to Boston several times and it's probably my favorite city I've visited. Lots of good historical sites to see, great shopping, a good bar/music scene, and of course a great sports town.

I've spent substantial time in both cities. Boston has more history / sight seeing. Chicago has more big city amenities - like food and attractions. Chicago will be colder.

Chicago didn't seem all that great to me, so I would choose Boston.

I was in CHicago last winter. I really enjoyed it a lot. SUre it was freezing and there was a couple inches of snow the first day I was there, but I actually liked it since it was something I'm not use to.

    Definitely don't come to Boston.

Incredibly overrated historical sites, city transits shut down way too early, etc

Chicago. Peter Cetera makes the girls' panties drop. Much more awesome than Boston.

(Unless you were talking about the cities, then I choose Boston, despite having never been there. There's no way it sucks as much as Chicago.)

I lived in Boston for over 4 years...the city is dead by midnight...and I'm not sure why people are saying it's colder in chicago because the winter sucks ass in Boston.

Unless you really want to check out Edgar Allen Poe's grave or something else along those lines, go to Chicago.

Chicago. The city is just more impressive. The architecture is the best in the United States. However, the historical stuff in Boston is is definitely worth seeing some day.

It'll be 31 degrees this Thursday here in Chicago. We're having some sort of weird "wind storm" today, as CNN called it. It's not raining or anything, but the wind is blowing downtown upwards up 50 mph.

With that said, Chicago is colder, on average, than Boston in the Winter...but coming from Houston, they will both be just as miserably cold for you.

I would obviously pick Chicago though. Downtown alone is a site to see in December, with all the holiday lights and all. We have better food and nightlife than Boston too.

I'll probably be wearing my red Vernon Maxwell jersey at the United Center that day.

Do you by any chance also own an Earl Campbell jersey? I was in Chicago a few weeks ago and complimented a guy who was walking down Michigan Ave sporting it.

One thing about Boston: it's not a big college town.

Chicago. A little more laid back... not as fast paced. Friendlier.
